| | APPLICATION FOR THE MECHANICAL PERMIT. HEATING AND |
| | COOLING LOADS SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO ACCOUNT FOR LOAD |
| | REDUCTIONS THAT ARE ACHIEVED WHEN ENERGY RECOVERY |
| | SYSTEMS ARE UTILIZED IN THE HVAC SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE |
| | WITH THE ASHRAEHVAC SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT HANDBOOK. |
| | ALTERNATIVELY, DESIGN LOADS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY AN |
| | APPROVED EQUIVALENT COMPUTATION PROCEDURE, USING THE |
| | DESIGN PARAMETERS SPECIFIED IN CHAPTER 3. |
| | 2) SHEET M0.1: PLEASE REVIEW AND UPDATE THE OUTDATED |
| | ASHRAE 62.1 REFERENCE AND CALCULATIONS TO BE IN |
| | COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2010 STANDARD AS LISTED IN THE |
| | FBC-14 MECHANICAL. |
| | 3) REFER TO SECTION 301.15 FBC-14 MECHANICAL AND |
| | PROVIDE THE WIND LOAD DESIGN CRITERIA, AND DETAILS FOR |
| | TIE DOWN OF THE NEW ROOF TOP CONDENSER: WIND |
| | RESISTANCE. |
| | MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES AND SUPPORTS THAT ARE |
| | EXPOSED TO WIND SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED TO |
| | RESIST THE WIND PRESSURES DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH |
| | THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING. |
| | 4) INDICATE HOW ACCESS FOR SERVICING OF THE UNDER FLOOR |
| | HEATERS IS BEING PROVIDED- REFER TO SECTION 306.4 |
| | APPLIANCES UNDER FLOORS. |
| | UNDERFLOOR SPACES CONTAINING APPLIANCES SHALL BE |
| | PROVIDED WITH AN ACCESS OPENING AND UNOBSTRUCTED |
| | PASSAGEWAY LARGE ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE LARGEST |
| | APPLIANCE. THE PASSAGEWAY SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 30 |
| | INCHES (762 MM) HIGH AND 22 INCHES (559 MM) WIDE, NOR |
| | MORE THAN 20 FEET (6096 MM) IN LENGTH MEASURED ALONG |
| | THE CENTERLINE OF THE PASSAGEWAY FROM THE OPENING TO |
| | THE APPLIANCE. A LEVEL SERVICE SPACE NOT LESS THAN 30 |
| | INCHES (762 MM) DEEP AND 30 INCHES (762 MM) WIDE SHALL |
| | BE PRESENT AT THE FRONT OR SERVICE SIDE OF THE |
| | APPLIANCE. IF THE DEPTH OF THE PASSAGEWAY OR THE |
| | SERVICE SPACE EXCEEDS 12 INCHES (305 MM) BELOW THE |
| | ADJOINING GRADE, THE WALLS OF THE PASSAGEWAY SHALL BE |
| | LINED WITH CONCRETE OR MASONRY. SUCH CONCRETE OR |
| | MASONRY SHALL EXTEND A MINIMUM OF 4 INCHES (102 MM) |
| | ABOVE THE ADJOINING GRADE AND SHALL HAVE SUFFICIENT |
| | LATERAL-BEARING CAPACITY TO RESIST COLLAPSE. THE CLEAR |
| | ACCESS OPENING DIMENSIONS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 22 |
| | INCHES BY 30 INCHES (559 MM BY 762 MM), AND LARGE |
| | ENOUGH TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF THE LARGEST APPLIANCE. |
| | EXCEPTIONS: |
| | 1. THE PASSAGEWAY IS NOT REQUIRED WHERE THE LEVEL |
| | SERVICE SPACE IS PRESENT WHEN THE ACCESS IS OPEN AND |
| | THE APPLIANCE IS CAPABLE OF BEING SERVICED AND REMOVED |
| | THROUGH THE REQUIRED OPENING. |
| | 2. WHERE THE PASSAGEWAY IS UNOBSTRUCTED AND NOT LESS |
| | THAN 6 FEET HIGH (1929 MM) AND 22 INCHES (559 MM) WIDE |
| | FOR ITS ENTIRE LENGTH, THE PASSAGEWAY SHALL NOT BE |
| | LIMITED IN LENGTH. |

| | 5) REFER TO SECTION 603 AND PROVIDE AN UNDERFLOOR DUCT |
| | LAYOUT PLAN. INDICATE THE TYPES AND SIZES OF DUCTS, AND |
| | DUCT SUPPORT AND CONNECTION DETAILS. |
| | 6) REFER TO SECTION 603.18 AND PROVIDE EVIDENCE OR DATA |
| | ON THE PLAN VERIFYING COMPLIANCE: REGISTERS, GRILLES |
| | AND DIFFUSERS. |
| | DUCT REGISTERS, GRILLES AND DIFFUSERS SHALL BE |
| | INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER?S |
| | INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. VOLUME DAMPERS OR OTHER |
| | MEANS OF SUPPLY AIR ADJUSTMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE |
| | BRANCH DUCTS OR AT EACH INDIVIDUAL DUCT REGISTER, |
| | GRILLE OR DIFFUSER. EACH VOLUME DAMPER OR OTHER MEANS |
| | OF SUPPLY AIR ADJUSTMENT USED IN BALANCING SHALL BE |
| | PROVIDED WITH ACCESS. |
| | 7) PROVIDE A UL TESTED AND APPROVED THROUGH PENETRATION |
| | FIRE STOPPING SYSTEM FOR THE REFRIGERANT PIPES |
| | PENETRATING THE FIRE-RATED STAIRWELL WALLS- REFER TO |
