 SHEET A-DEW-16: EXTERIOR STAIR - OPEN GUARDS SHALL
 PROHIBIT THE PASSAGE OF A 4-INCH DIAMETER SPHERE UP TO
 A HEIGHT OF 34-INCHES. THE TRIANGULAR OPENINGS FORMED
 BY THE RISER, TREAD AND BOTTOM ELEMENT OF THE GUARDRAIL
 SHALL PROHIBIT THE PASSAGE OF A 6-INCH DIAMETER SPHERE.
  
 SHEET E-DEW-06: MISSING EXIT SIGN FOR SECONDARY EGRESS
 DOOR IN MAIN ELECTRICAL ROOM.
  
 GENERAL: PER NFPA 241 SECTION 8.7.2.3, WHERE
 UNDERGROUND WATER MAINS AND HYDRANTS ARE TO BE
 PROVIDED, THEY SHALL BE INSTALLED, COMPLETED, AND IN
 SERVICE PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION WORK. PER FFPC (NFPA 1)
 SECTION 18.3.4.2, FIRE HYDRANTS AND FIRE PROTECTION
 APPLIANCES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH CLEARANCES OF 7'-6"
 TO THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE APPLIANCE.
  
 GENERAL: PROVIDE DRAWING NOTE INDICATING ALL
 CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 241. TRASH AND CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS
 SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE DAILY. SMOKING SHALL BE
 PROHIBITED EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED EXTERIOR AREAS. ALL
 OTHER DEMOLITION OR CONSTRUCTION AREAS SHALL HAVE "NO
 SMOKING" SIGNS POSTED. WHERE SMOKING IS PERMITTED, SAFE
 RECEPTACLES FOR SMOKING MATERIALS SHALL BE PROVIDED.
  
 GENERAL: INDICATE IF ANY TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION
 TRAILERS ARE INTEDED TO OCCUPY THE SITE: PER NFPA 241
 SECTION 4.2.2: DETACHMENT BETWEEN TEMPORARY STRUCTURES,
 ADEQUATE TEMPORARY FIXED FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS, AND
 PORTABLE EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED AS REQUIRED BY THE
 AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
 PER NFPA 241- STANDARD FOR SAFEGUARDING CONSTRUCTION,
 ALTERATION, AND DEMOLITION OPERATIONS, SECTION 4.2:
 TEMPORARY OFFICES, TRAILERS, AND OTHER FACILITIES OF
 COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION OR HOUSING COMBUSTIBLE
 CONTENTS SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM ADJACENT BUILDINGS,
 TRAILERS OR STRUCTURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH TABLE 4.2.1.
 PER TABLE 4.2.1:
 1) 20 FEET EXPOSED LENGTH SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM
 ADJACENT STRUCTURES BY AT LEAST 30 FEET
 2) 30 FEET EXPOSED LENGTH SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM
 ADJACENT STRUCTURES BY AT LEAST 35 FEET
 3) 40 FEET EXPOSED LENGTH SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM
 ADJACENT STRUCTURES BY AT LEAST 40 FEET
 4) 50 FEET EXPOSED LENGTH SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM
 ADJACENT STRUCTURES BY AT LEAST 45 FEET
 5) 60 FEET EXPOSED LENGTH SHALL BE SEPARATED FROM

 ELECTRICAL ROOM FIRE PROTECTION: RECOMMEND A CLEAN
 AGENT GAS SYSTEM (FM200, SAPPHIRE, ETC.) TO PROTECT THE
 ELECTRICAL ROOMS. THIS WILL PROVIDE FIRE SUPPRESSION
 CAPABILITIES AND NOT HARM THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
  
 ELEVATOR FIRE PROTECTION: PER NFPA 13 SECTION 8.15.5.6
 SPRINKLERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF
 ELEVATOR HOISTWAYS WHERE ELEVATORS UTILIZE
 POLYURETHANE-COATED STEEL BELTS OR OTHER SIMILAR
 COMBUSTIBLE BELT MATERIAL.
  
 VERTICAL OPENINGS FIRE PROTECTION: PER NFPA 13 SECTION
 8.15.4 WHERE FLOOR OPENINGS ARE UNENCLOSED AND WHERE
 SPRINKLER PROTECTION IS SERVING AS THE ALTERNATIVE TO
 ENCLOSURE OF THE VERTICAL OPENING, THE FLOOR OPENINGS
 INVOLVED SHALL BE PROTECTED BY CLOSELY SPACED
 SPRINKLERS IN COMBINATION WITH DRAFT STOPS. DRAFT STOPS
 SHALL MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
 (1) THE DRAFT STOPS SHALL BE LOCATED IMMEDIATELY
 ADJACENT TO THE OPENING.
 (2) THE DRAFT STOPS SHALL BE AT LEAST 18-INCHES DEEP.
 (3) THE DRAFT STOPS SHALL BE OF NONCOMBUSTIBLE OR
 LIMITEDCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL THAT WILL STAY IN PLACE
 BEFORE AND DURING SPRINKLER OPERATION.
 (4) SPRINKLERS SHALL BE SPACED NOT MORE THAN 6 FEET
 APART AND PLACED 6 IN. TO 12 IN. FROM THE DRAFT STOP ON
 THE SIDE AWAY FROM THE OPENING.
  
 SHEET FP-DEW-04: NO STANDPIPE AND HOSE VALVES PROVIDED
 FOR THE EXTERIOR STAIR OR ON THE ROOF AS REQUIRED PER
 NFPA 14.
  
 FBC SECTION 105.4.1 PERMIT INTENT: A PERMIT ISSUED
 SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO BE A LICENSE TO PROCEED WITH THE
 WORK AND NOT AS AUTHORITY TO VIOLATE, CANCEL, ALTER OR
 SET ASIDE ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE TECHNICAL CODES,
 NOR SHALL ISSUANCE OF A PERMIT PREVENT THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL FROM THEREAFTER REQUIRING A CORRECTION OF
 ERRORS IN PLANS, CONSTRUCTION OR VIOLATIONS OF THIS
 CODE. REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY THE AHJ SHALL NOT RELIEVE
 THE OWNER, CONTRACTOR, ETC. OF THE RESPONSIBILITY OF
 COMPLIANCE WITH CODE (NFPA 1, SECTION 1.14.4).
