 MARSHAL, WITH THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS:
  
 1) SHEET 1-1.0, THERE ARE INCORRECT REFERENCES TO THE
 FIRE CODE.
 THE PROPOSED PROJECT SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 5TH EDITION OF FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE INCLUDING
 THE 2012 EDITION OF NFPA 1 AND NFPA 101 AND ALL OTHER
 APPLICABLE CODES OR STANDARDS.
 FIRE SPRINKLER WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS
 OF NFPA 13, 2010 EDITION.
 FIRE ALARM WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 NFPA 72, 2010 EDITION.
 CONSTRUCTION WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 NFPA 241, 2009 EDITION.
 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS
 OF NFPA 10, 2010 EDITION.
 ELECTRIC WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 70, 2011 EDITION.
  
 2) SHEET A-1.2, DOORS 125 & 126 OPEN INTO THE EXIT
 CORRIDOR, THOUGH EXISTING THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 CORRECTED DUE TO THE NATURE AND EXTENT OF THE REMODEL.
 NFPA 101 CHAPTER 7, MEANS OF EGRESS
 7.2.1.4.3 DOOR LEAF ENCROACHMENT
 7.2.1.4.3.1 DURING ITS SWING, ANY DOOR LEAF IN A MEANS
 OF EGRESS SHALL LEAVE NOT LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF THE
 REQUIRED WIDTH OF AN AISLE, A CORRIDOR, A PASSAGEWAY,
 OR A LANDING UNOBSTRUCTED AND SHALL NOT PROJECT NOT
 MORE THAN 7 IN. INTO THE REQUIRED WIDTH OF AN AISLE, A
 CORRIDOR, A PASSAGE WAY, OR A LANDING, WHEN FULLY OPEN,
 UNLESS BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE MET:
 (1) THE DOOR OPENING PROVIDES ACCESS TO A STAIR IN AN
 EXISTING BUILDING.
 (2) THE DOOR OPENING MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS THAT LIMITS
 PROJECTION TO NOT MORE THAN 7 IN. INTO THE REQUIRED
 WIDTH OF THE STAIR LANDING WHEN THE DOOR LEAF IS FULLY
 OPEN.
  
 3) PROVIDE A NOTE ACKNOWLEDGING THE FOLLOWING :
 THE NATURE OF THE REMODEL REQUIRES AN EVALUATION OF THE
 FIRE ALARM AND SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR CODE COVERAGE AND
 COMPLIANCE. ANY REMOVAL AND/OR CONSTRUCTION OF WALLS
 REQUIRES AN EVALUATION.
 THE LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS, FIRE ALARM AND/OR FIRE
 SPRINKLER SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE THROUGHOUT THE
 CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.
 ANY AND ALL WORK ON THE FIRE ALARM AND FIRE SPRINKLER
 SYSTEMS SHALL BE DONE UNDER SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS AND
 BY CERTIFIED LIFE SAFETY CONTRACTORS.
 ANY TIME THAT WORK ON THE LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS,
 SPRINKLER AND/OR FIRE ALARM, EXCEEDS 4 HOURS, A FIRE
 WATCH SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED AND MAINTAINED UNTIL FULL
 AND COMPLETE PROTECTION IS RETURNED.
  
 4) PROVIDE A NOTE ACKNOWLEDGING THE FOLLOWING.
 ALL KITCHEN EQUIPMENT AND OPERATIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH
 NFPA 96, STANDARD FOR VENTILATION CONTROL AND FIRE
 PROTECTION OF COMMERCIAL COOKING OPERATIONS.
 EXTINGUISHMENT AND HOOD VENTILATION SYSTEM SHOP
 DRAWINGS SHALL BE SUBMITTED SEPARATELY FOR APPROVAL.
  
 5) SHEET A 1.3, THE DOOR SCHEDULE SHOW DOOR 124 WITH A
 LOCKSET. THE DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED AGAIST EGRESS. NO
 EXIT DOOR SHALL BE LOCKED FROM THE EGRESS SIDE. ANY AND
 ALL LOCKING MECHANISMS SHALL BE COMPLAINT WITH CHAPTER
 7 OF THE FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE AND PRE-APPROVED
 (PRIOR TO INSTALLATION) BY THE BUREAU OF FIRE
 PREVENTION. CLOSE COORDINATION WITH THE BUREAU OF FIRE
 PREVENTION IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO AVOID
 MISUNDERSTANDINGS, MISINTERPRETATIONS AND DELAYS
 RELATED TO EGRESS REQUIREMENTS.
  
 INDICATE IF THE DOORS WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH ANY
 LOCK/LATCH. IF THE DOORS WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A
 LOCK/LATCH, INDICATE HOW THE LOCK/LATCH WILL BE
 RELEASED FROM THE EGRESS SIDE OF THE DOOR.
  
 PER SECTION 7.2.1.5.9, THE LOCK/LATCH RELEASING
 MECHANISM ON ALL DOORS SHALL OPEN THE DOOR WITH NOT
 MORE THAN ONE RELEASING OPERATION. THE RELEASING
 MECHANISM SHALL HAVE AN OBVIOUS METHOD OF OPERATION
 THAT IS READILY OPERATED UNDER ALL LIGHTING CONDITIONS.
 THE RELEASING DEVICE SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF BEING
 OPERATED WITH ONE HAND AND SHOULD NOT REQUIRE TIGHT
 GRASPING, TIGHT PINCHING OR TWISTING OF THE WRIST TO
 OPERATE.
  
 FOR ASSEMBLY AND EDUCATIONAL OCCUPANCIES WITH AN
 OCCUPANT LOAD OF 100 OR MORE PERSONS (50 PERSONS PER
 THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE), PANIC HARDWARE SHALL BE
 PROVIDED ON DOORS TO RELEASE THE LOCK/LATCH. NO OTHER
 LOCKS OR LATCHES ARE PERMITTED THAT WOULD NOT BE
 RELEASED BY THE PANIC HARDWARE. AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR
 PANIC HARDWARE, THE MAIN ENTRANCE IS PERMITTED TO HAVE
 AN INTERIOR KEYED DOOR LOCK (AND NO LATCH) WITH A
 READILY VISIBLE SIGN STATING THIS DOOR TO REMAIN
 UNLOCKED WHEN THE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. SIGN LETTERS
 SHALL BE AT LEAST 1 INCH IN HEIGHT. KEYED LOCK TO BE
 EQUIPPED WITH AN ?OPEN/LOCKED? INDICATOR WINDOW (SUCH
 AS ADAMS RITE 4089 OR SIMILAR). A THUMB TURN STYLE LOCK
 IS NOT PERMITTED TO BE SUBSTITUTED FOR A KEYED LOCK.
