 DENIED BY BUILDING
 PLEASE ADDRESS THE ITEMS NOTED BELOW:
  
 1) R318.6 PROTECTION AGAINST DECAY AND TERMITES.
 CONDENSATE LINES, IRRIGATION/SPRINKLER SYSTEM RISERS
 FOR SPRAY HEADS, AND ROOF DOWNSPOUTS SHALL DISCHARGE AT
 LEAST 1 FOOT (305 MM) AWAY FROM THE STRUCTURE SIDEWALL,
 WHETHER BY UNDERGROUND PIPING, TAIL EXTENSIONS OR
 SPLASH BLOCKS. GUTTERS WITH DOWNSPOUTS ARE REQUIRED ON
 ALL BUILDINGS WITH EAVES OF LESS THAN 6 INCHES (152 MM)
 HORIZONTAL PROJECTION EXCEPT FOR GABLE END RAKES OR ON
 A ROOF ABOVE ANOTHER ROOF. THE ROOF SCUPPERS ARE
 REQUIRED TO DISCHARGE INTO COLLECTORS WITH DOWN SPOUTS
 THAT DISCHARGE AT LEAST ONE FOOT AWAY FROM THE
 STRUCTURE SIDEWALL.
  
 2) FBC R903.4 ROOF DRAINAGE. UNLESS ROOFS ARE SLOPED TO
 DRAIN OVER ROOF EDGES, ROOF DRAINS SHALL BE INSTALLED
 AT EACH LOW POINT OF THE ROOF. WHERE REQUIRED FOR ROOF
 DRAINAGE, SCUPPERS SHALL BE PLACED LEVEL WITH THE ROOF
 SURFACE IN A WALL OR PARAPET. THE SCUPPER SHALL BE
 LOCATED AS DETERMINED BY THE ROOF SLOPE AND
 CONTRIBUTING ROOF AREA.
 FBC R903.4.1 WHEN OTHER MEANS OF DRAINAGE OF OVERFLOW
 WATER IS NOT PROVIDED, OVERFLOW SCUPPERS SHALL BE
 PLACED IN WALLS OR PARAPETS NOT LESS THAN 2 INCHES (51
 MM) NOR MORE THAN 4 INCHES (102 MM) ABOVE THE FINISHED
 ROOF COVERING AND SHALL BE LOCATED AS CLOSE AS
 PRACTICAL TO REQUIRED VERTICAL LEADERS OR DOWNSPOUTS OR
 WALL AND PARAPET SCUPPERS. AN OVERFLOW SCUPPER SHALL BE
 SIZED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 PLUMBING. PROVIDE SCUPPER SIZING CALCULATIONS THAT
 INCLUDE THE AREAS OF THE ADJOINING SLOPED ROOFS THAT
 WILL DRAIN ONTO THE FLAT ROOF. SPECIFY THE SIZE AND
 LOCATION OF THE REQUIRED OVERFLOW SCUPPERS. FBC

 3) SPECIFY THE SLOPE OF THE EXISTING ROOF ON THE PLANS.
 FBC R905.9.1 SLOPE. BUILT-UP ROOFS SHALL HAVE A DESIGN
 SLOPE OF A MINIMUM OF ONE-FOURTH UNIT VERTICAL IN 12
 UNITS HORIZONTAL (2-PERCENT SLOPE) FOR DRAINAGE, EXCEPT
 FOR COAL-TAR BUILT-UP ROOFS, WHICH SHALL HAVE A DESIGN
 SLOPE OF A MINIMUM ONE- EIGHTH UNIT VERTICAL IN 12
 UNITS HORIZONTAL (1-PERCENT SLOPE).
 R905.11.1 SLOPE. MODIFIED BITUMEN MEMBRANE ROOFS SHALL
 HAVE A DESIGN SLOPE OF A MINIMUM OF ONE-FOURTH UNIT
 VERTICAL IN 12 UNITS HORIZONTAL (2-PERCENT SLOPE) FOR
 DRAINAGE.
  
 4) R806.1 VENTILATION REQUIRED. ENCLOSED ATTICS AND
 ENCLOSED RAFTER SPACES FORMED WHERE CEILINGS ARE
 APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE UNDERSIDE OF ROOF RAFTERS SHALL
 HAVE CROSS VENTILATION FOR EACH SEPARATE SPACE BY
 VENTILATING OPENINGS PROTECTED AGAINST THE ENTRANCE OF
 RAIN OR SNOW. VENTILATING OPENINGS SHALL BE PROVIDED
 WITH CORROSION-RESISTANT WIRE MESH, WITH 1/8 INCH (3.2
 MM) MINIMUM TO 1/4 INCH (6 MM) MAXIMUM OPENINGS. NOTE:
 THE EXISTING FLAT ROOF HAS ENCLOSED RAFTER SPACES WITH
 BATT INSULATION THAT ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE VENTILATION.
 THE RAFTER SPACES CAN BE DESIGNED BY A FLORIDA LICENSED
 ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER TO ELIMINATE THE VENTING. THE
 FLAT ROOF SPACE WILL HAVE TO BE SEALED OFF FROM THE
 ATTIC SPACE IN THE REST OF THE STRUCTURE.
  
 5) FBC 107.3.4 - PROVIDE TWO SETS OF PRODUCT APPROVALS
 FOR THOSE PRODUCTS WHICH ARE REGULATED BY DCA RULE 9N-3
 THAT HAVE BEEN REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD. SPECIFICALLY, PROVIDE ROOFING
 COVERING MATERIAL NOAS OR FL PRODUCT APPROVALS.
  
 6) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 2010 FBC ENERGY CONSERVATION
 SECT. 101.4.3 & 103.2 BY SUBMITTING THE PROPER
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. SEE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FORMS
 402 OR 405.
  
 7) IN ORDER TO REDUCE PLAN REVIEW TIMES AND PROVIDE
 CLARIFICATION, PLEASE SUBMIT A RESPONSE LETTER
 INDICATING HOW EACH OF THE REVIEW COMMENTS HAS BEEN
 ADDRESSED.
  
 NOTE: IF THE FLAT ROOF IS DESIGNED TO SIT ON TOP OF THE
 BLOCK WALL AND EXTEND OUT OVER IT TO PROVIDE AN
 OVERHANG OF AT LEAST 6 INCHES, THEN THE SCUPPERS,
 GUTTERS, DOWNSPOUTS WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED AND A
 CONTINUOUS EAVE VENT COULD BE INSTALLED TO ADDRESS THE
 RAFTER SPACE VENTILATION.
