 PLEASE PROVIDE WRITTEN RESPONSES.
  
 1) REPEAT COMMENT: THE PLANS SHOW THE DEMOLITION OF THE
 EXTERIOR WALL ALONG BROADWAY AND ITS REPLACEMENT WITH
 STOREFRONT GLAZING AND A NEW WALL. THE BMUD REGULATIONS
 REQUIRE THAT STOREFRONTS HAVE CLEAR GLAZED AREAS, ALONG
 A MINIMUM OF 70 PERCENT OF ITS FACADE LENGTH, BETWEEN
 TWO AND EIGHT FEET FROM THE GROUND - SECTION
 94-221(D)(5). THE GLAZING CALCULATION PROVIDED ON SHEET
 A-9 SHOWS ONLY 46.97 PERCENT GLAZING. THE PLANS DO NOT
 SHOW THE PROVISION OF THE MINIMUM 70 PERCENT GLAZING
 BETWEEN TWO AND EIGHT FEET AS PART OF THE CONSTRUCTION
 OF THE NEW EASTERN WALL OF THE BUILDING.
  
 2) THE CONDITIONAL APPROVAL FORM FOR THIS PERMIT OR
 PERMITS FOR THIS ITEMS LISTED BELOW SHALL BE COMPETED
 AND RETURNED TO THE PLANNING DIVISION PRIOR TO ZONING
 APPROVAL OF THIS PERMIT:
 A. LANDSCAPE - RENOVATIONS EXCEED 50% OF THE BUILDING
 VALUE SO COMPLIANT LANDSCAPE IS REQUIRED. PLEASE NOTE
 THAT THE CITY REQUIRES THAT A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT SIGN
 AND SEAL LANDSCAPE PLANS. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE A
 CERTIFIED COST ESTIMATE FOR THE LANDSCAPE MATERIAL AND
 INSTALLATION SHOWN ON THE LANDSCAPE PLAN.
 B. IRRIGATION
 C. PARKING LOT - CURBING AND STRIPING.
 D. DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE - PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DUMPSTER
 ENCLOSURE REQUIRES A 12 FOOT 6 INCH OPENING (NO
 DIMENSION PROVIDED). THE OVERALL DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE
 DEPTH DOES NOT MEET CITY STANDARDS. DUMPSTERS FOR FOOD
 SERVICE BUSINESSES SHALL BE FULLY ENCLOSED AND
 AIR-CONDITIONED - SECTION 94-221(D)(10). IF THE
 BUILDING CODE INVALIDATES THE REQUIREMENT TO
 AIR-CONDITION THE ENCLOSURE (VERIFICATION SHALL BE
 PROVIDED), THEN A FAN MAY BE USED. HOWEVER, THE FAN
 (MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT) SHALL BE SCREENED IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH SECTION 94-221(D)(8).
 E. BICYCLE PARKING - THE BICYCLE RACK STYLE SHOWN ON
 SHEET A-3 CONFORMS TO CITY STANDARDS; HOWEVER, TWO
 ELEMENTS (TO PARK FOUR BICYCLES REQUIRES 6.5 FEET FROM
 THE BUILDING WITH THE FIRST ELEMENT INSTALLED 24 INCHES
 FROM THE BUILDING) NOT 5.5 FEET AS SHOWN. PLEASE NOTE
 THAT THE AMOUNT OF BICYCLE PARKING IS BASED ON THE
 REQUIRED PARKING FOR A PROPERTY. WHILE THIS SITE IS
 NON-CONFORMING AS TO PARKING, THE USE REQUIRES 45
 PARKING SPACES, WHICH TRANSLATES INTO THREE REQUIRED
 BICYCLE PARKING SPACES. THIS ONLY REQUIRES TWO ELEMENTS
 (EACH SUPPORTS TWO BICYCLES), SO INSTALLING ONE ELEMENT
 INSTEAD OF TWO AT EACH LOCATION WOULD PROVIDE THE
 MINIMUM REQUIRED ROOM FOR A CUSTOMER, OR EMPLOYEE, TO
 PARK A BICYCLE. IF THE OWNER WISHES TO PROVIDE MORE
 ELEMENTS NOW OR IN THE FUTURE (IF IT IS NOTED THAT
 THERE IS A DEMAND FOR BICYCLE PARKING), THEN THEY COULD
 CONTINUE DOWN THE "NEW CONCRETE WALKWAY" AS LONG AS
 THERE IS AT LEAST SIX (6) FEET OF DEPTH PROVIDED FOR
 EACH "BICYCLE PAD". SHEETS A-3, A-3 AND A-4 NEED TO BE
 CORRECTLY SHOW THE CORRECT BICYCLE PARKING LAYOUT AS
 PART OF THE BUILDING PERMIT FOR THE BICYCLE PARKING.
  
 3) THE FOLLOWING SEPARATE PERMITS, WITH PLANS, ARE
 REQUIRED:

 B. SIGNAGE
 C. SITE LIGHTING
  
 4) THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING THE CODE REQUIRED EIGHT (8)
 FOOT WIDE SIDEWALK ALONG BROADWAY. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE
 WIDENING OF THE SIDEWALK DOES NOT PERMIT THE NARROWING
 OF THE TERMINAL LANDSCAPE ISLAND TO LESS THAN THE
 REQUIRED FIVE (5) FEET IN WIDTH. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE
 WIDTH SHALL BE MEASURED FROM THE PLANTED AREA OF THE
 TERMINAL ISLAND, AND NOT INCLUDE THE CURBING. THE SITE
 PLAN SHOWS A 29.75 FOOT WIDE DRIVEWAY ONTO 49TH STREET
 THAT CAN BE NARROWED TO PROVIDE THE ADDITIONAL TERMINAL
 ISLAND WIDTH. THESE ITEMS SHALL BE CORRECTLY DEPICTED
 ON THE LANDSCAPE AND PARKING LOT PERMITS.
