| | I AM IN RECEIPT OF THE LETTER FROM GABRIEL GOSLINE AND |
| | THE RESPONSES FROM JOHN AVERKAMP. I AGREE THAT THE |
| | GARAGE CAN BE CONVERTED INTO AN APARTMENT AS LONG AS IT |
| | MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BUILDING CODE. THE GARAGE |
| | WAS APPARENTLY CONVERTED INTO AN APARTMENT WITHOUT THE |
| | PROPER PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS SOMETIME IN THE PAST. |
| | SINCE THE CONVERSION WAS DONE WITHOUT THE PROPER |
| | PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS, THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS. IT CAN |
| | BE CONVERTED BACK TO A GARAGE OR IT CAN BE PERMITTED AS |
| | A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY FROM A GARAGE TO AN APARTMENT. |
| | THE DETACHED GARAGE IS A GROUP U OCCUPANCY AND THE |
| | APARTMENT IS A GROUP R-3 OCCUPANCY. IF YOU WISH TO HAVE |
| | THE APARTMENT, THEN THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WILL NEED TO |
| | BE ADDRESSED. |

| | 1) THIS STRUCTURE WAS ORIGINALLY CONSTRUCTED AS A |
| | GARAGE. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT THIS STRUCTURE WAS |
| | LEGALLY CONVERTED TO AN APARTMENT AS INDICATED ON THE |
| | PLANS. UNLESS YOU CAN PROVIDE PROOF THAT THE CHANGE |
| | FROM GARAGE TO APARTMENT WAS PREVIOUSLY PERMITTED, |
| | INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT, THIS |
| | WILL BE CONSIDERED A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY FROM AN |
