 1) PLEASE REVIEW A DISCREPANCY IN PLANS, SHEET A.01
 BUILDING CODE SUMMARY INDICATES THE BUILDING AS A TYPE
 IIB UNPROTECTED/ NON-SPRIKLERED BUILDING, WHERE AS
 SHEET S1 INDICATES THE USE OF 2X WOOD JOIST FRAMING
 MEMEBERS. FBC-B 603.1.1 WILL NOT ALLOW THE USAGE OF ANY
 COMBUSTIBLE WOOD FLOOR JOIST, IT APPEARS THIS BUILDING
 WILL NEED TO BE RECLASSIFIED AND WILL NEED TO INDICATE
 TYPE OF BUILDING TYPE AND ALLOWABLE FRONTAGE INCREASES
 (FBC-B 506.2) TO QUALIFY FOR 29,026 SQ FT FOR THE FIRST
 FLOOR.
  
 2) PLEASE REVIEW SHEET A0.2 THE FIRST FLOOR LOCATION
 FOR THE ACCESSIBLE LIFT INDICATES THIS AREA TO BE A
 EXISTING TEST KITCHEN. FBC-B 1014.2 (1) EGRESS SHALL
 NOT PASS THROUGH KITCHENS OR SIMILAR PURPOSES. PERMIT #
 06100214 FOR 3624 GEORGIA AVE WERE FOR TOOJAY'S TEST
 KITCHEN SHEET A0.0 INDICATES THIS TO BE A TRAINING
 FACILITY WITH A SEATING AREA AS WELL, NOT JUST A
 KITCHEN, IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE ON THE PLANS THE
 LOCATION OF LIFT IS IN THE CUSTOMER SEATING AREA OF THE
 TRAINING FACILITY. PLEASE UPDATE THE PLAN TO REFLECT
 THE
 LIFT IS NOT ACTUALLY LOCATED IN A KITCHEN AS THE USAGE
 OF THIS AREA HAS NOT DEVIATED FROM WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY
 PERMITED.
  
 3) AREA OF RESCUE ASSISTANCE WILL NEED TO COMPLY WITH:
 3A) 11-4.3.11.4 TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION. A METHOD OF
 TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION, WITH BOTH VISIBLE AND AUDIBLE
 SIGNALS, SHALL BE PROVIDED BETWEEN EACH AREA OF RESCUE
 ASSISTANCE AND THE PRIMARY ENTRY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
 OR APPROPRIATE LOCAL AUTHORITY MAY APPROVE A LOCATION
 OTHER THAN THE PRIMARY ENTRY.
  
 3B) 11-4.3.11.5 IDENTIFICATION. EACH AREA OF RESCUE
 ASSISTANCE SHALL BE IDENTIFIED BY A SIGN, WHICH STATES
 "AREA OF RESCUE ASSISTANCE" AND DISPLAYS THE
 INTERNATIONAL SYMBOL OF ACCESSIBILITY. THE SIGN SHALL
 BE ILLUMINATED WHEN EXIT SIGN ILLUMINATION IS REQUIRED.
 SIGNAGE SHALL ALSO BE INSTALLED AT ALL INACCESSIBLE
 EXITS AND WHERE OTHERWISE NECESSARY TO CLEARLY INDICATE
 THE DIRECTION TO AREAS OF RESCUE ASSISTANCE. IN EACH
 AREA OF RESCUE ASSISTANCE, INSTRUCTIONS ON THE USE OF
 THE AREA UNDER EMERGENCY CONDITIONS SHALL BE POSTED
 ADJOINING THE TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION SYSTEM.
  
 4) 712.6 FIRE WALLS, FIRE BARRIERS, FIRE PARTITIONS,
 SMOKE BARRIERS AND SMOKE PARTITIONS OR ANY OTHER WALL
 REQUIRED TO HAVE PROTECTED OPENINGS SHALL BE
 EFFECTIVELY AND PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED WITH SIGNS OR
 STENCILING IN A MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO THE AUTHORITY
 HAVING JURISDICTION. SUCH IDENTIFICATION SHALL BE ABOVE
 ANY DECORATIVE CEILING AND IN CONCEALED SPACES.
 SUGGESTED WORDING FOR FIRE AND SMOKE BARRIERS: "FIRE
 AND SMOKE BARRIER - PROTECT ALL OPENINGS."
  
 5) SHEET M-1 PLANS INDICATE DUCT PENETRATING 1 HR FIRE
 RATED WALLS (STAIRWELL) PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION
 FBC-B 712.3.3 DUCTS AND AIR TRANSFER OPENINGS.
 PENETRATIONS OF FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED WALLS BY DUCTS
 THAT ARE NOT PROTECTED WITH DAMPERS SHALL COMPLY WITH
 SECTIONS 712.2 THROUGH 712.3.1. DUCTS AND AIR TRANSFER
 OPENINGS THAT ARE PROTECTED WITH DAMPERS SHALL COMPLY
 WITH SECTION 716.
  
 716.4 ACCESS AND IDENTIFICATION. FIRE AND SMOKE DAMPERS
 SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH AN APPROVED MEANS OF ACCESS,
 WHICH IS LARGE ENOUGH TO PERMIT INSPECTION AND
 MAINTENANCE OF THE DAMPER AND ITS OPERATING PARTS. THE
 ACCESS SHALL NOT AFFECT THE INTEGRITY OF
 FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED ASSEMBLIES. THE ACCESS OPENINGS
 SHALL NOT REDUCE THE FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING OF THE
 ASSEMBLY. ACCESS POINTS SHALL BE PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED
 ON THE EXTERIOR BY A LABEL HAVING LETTERS NOT LESS THAN
 0.5 INCH (12.7 MM) IN HEIGHT READING: FIRE/SMOKE
 DAMPER, SMOKE DAMPER OR FIRE DAMPER. ACCESS DOORS IN
 DUCTS SHALL BE TIGHT FITTING AND SUITABLE FOR THE
 REQUIRED DUCT CONSTRUCTION.
  
 716.5 WHERE REQUIRED. FIRE DAMPERS, SMOKE DAMPERS,
 COMBINATION FIRE/SMOKE DAMPERS AND CEILING RADIATION
 DAMPERS SHALL BE PROVIDED AT THE LOCATIONS PRESCRIBED
 IN SECTIONS 716.5.1 THROUGH 716.5.5 AND SECTION 716.6.
 WHERE AN ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED TO HAVE BOTH FIRE DAMPERS
 AND SMOKE DAMPERS, COMBINATION FIRE/SMOKE DAMPERS OR A
 FIRE DAMPER AND A SMOKE DAMPER SHALL BE REQUIRED.
