 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 711, OR BOTH. EXIT ENCLOSURES
 SHALL HAVE A FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 2
 HOURS WHERE CONNECTING FOUR STORIES OR MORE AND NOT
 LESS THAN 1 HOUR WHERE CONNECTING LESS THAN FOUR
 STORIES.
  
 1020.1.2 PENETRATIONS. PENETRATIONS INTO AND OPENINGS
 THROUGH AN EXIT ENCLOSURE ARE PROHIBITED EXCEPT FOR
 REQUIRED EXIT DOORS, EQUIPMENT AND DUCTWORK NECESSARY
 FOR INDEPENDENT PRESSURIZATION, SPRINKLER PIPING,
 STANDPIPES, ELECTRICAL RACEWAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
 COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND ELECTRICAL RACEWAY SERVING
 THE EXIT ENCLOSURE AND TERMINATING AT A STEEL BOX NOT
 EXCEEDING 16 SQUARE INCHES (0.010 M2). SUCH
 PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 712. THERE SHALL BE NO PENETRATIONS OR
 COMMUNICATION OPENINGS, WHETHER PROTECTED OR NOT,
 BETWEEN ADJACENT EXIT ENCLOSURES.
  
 THE CODE LIMITS THE USE OF THIS AREA, RESTROOMS AND
 MECHANICAL ROOMS ARE NOT TO BE LOCATED WITHIN THE
 STAIRWELL. IF VIEWED AS AN EXIT PASSAGEWAY A DOOR WOULD
 STILL BE REQUIRED TO SEPERATE THE VERTICAL EXIT FROM
 THE EXIT PASSAGE WAY TO THE EXIT DISCHARGE. WITHIN THE
 EXIT PASSAGE WAY THE RESTROOM DOOR AND MECHANICAL ROOM
 DOOR WOULD STILL NEED TO BE RELOCTED OUT SIDE OF THE
 EXIT PASSAGE WAY.

 FLOOR OPENING: THERE ARE TWO ISSUES,

 THESE TWO CODE SECTIONS LIMIT THE USE OF A 26" SPIRAL
 STAIR AS A PART OF A
 MEANS OF EGRESS.

 A SPIRAL STAIR CAN BE USED AS A PART OF A MEANS OF
 EGRESS. PLEASE REVIEW ALL THE CODE CRITERIA REQUIRED
 FOR A SPIRAL STAIR!!!!!!!! PLEASE PROVIDE SHOP DRAWINGS
 TO PROVIDE CODE COMPLIANCE WITH ALL SECTIONS OF
