 101.5 COMPLIANCE METHODS.
  
 101.5.1 PRESCRIPTIVE COMPLIANCE METHOD. REPAIRS,
 ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS AND CHANGES OF OCCUPANCY
 COMPLYING WITH CHAPTER 3 OF THIS CODE IN BUILDINGS
 COMPLYING WITH THE FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE SHALL
 BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
 CODE.
  
 101.5.2 WORK AREA COMPLIANCE METHOD. REPAIRS,
 ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS, CHANGES IN OCCUPANCY AND
 RELOCATED BUILDINGS COMPLYING WITH THE APPLICABLE
 REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTERS 4 THROUGH 12 OF THIS CODE
 SHALL BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS
 OF THIS CODE. IF THIS METHOD IS YOUR DESIGN METHOD

 BLDG CODE: 401.4 A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL OR AN OWNER MUST
 ELECT ONE OR A COMBINATION OF LEVELS OF ALTERATION
 PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 403, 404 AND 405 OF THIS CODE.
  
 101.5.3 PERFORMANCE COMPLIANCE METHOD. REPAIRS,
 ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS, CHANGES IN OCCUPANCY AND
 RELOCATED BUILDINGS COMPLYING WITH CHAPTER 13 OF THIS
 CODE SHALL BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE
 PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE.
  
 2) SHEET A-2 INDICATES VARIOUS WALL SECTIONS LOCATED ON
 SHEET A-4 WHICH IS NOT FOUND IN THE PLANS OR SHEET
 INDEX, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED? 106.1.2.
  
 3) SHEET A-2 ALSO INDICATES TRAVEL THROUGH A STOREROOM
 TO REACH ONE OF THE EXITS: FBC-B 1014.2.2 2. EGRESS
 SHALL NOT PASS THROUGH KITCHENS, STORAGE ROOMS, CLOSETS
 OR SPACES USED FOR SIMILAR PURPOSES.
  
 EXCEPTIONS:
  
 1. MEANS OF EGRESS ARE NOT PROHIBITED THROUGH A KITCHEN
 AREA SERVING ADJOINING ROOMS CONSTITUTING PART OF THE
 SAME DWELLING UNIT OR SLEEPING UNIT.
  
 2. MEANS OF EGRESS ARE NOT PROHIBITED THROUGH
 STOCKROOMS IN GROUP M OCCUPANCIES WHEN ALL OF THE
 FOLLOWING ARE MET:
  
 2.1. THE STOCK IS OF THE SAME HAZARD CLASSIFICATION AS
 THAT FOUND IN THE MAIN RETAIL AREA;
  
 2.2. NOT MORE THAN 50 PERCENT OF THE EXIT ACCESS IS
 THROUGH THE STOCKROOM;
  
 2.3. THE STOCKROOM IS NOT SUBJECT TO LOCKING FROM THE
 EGRESS SIDE; AND
  
 2.4. THERE IS A DEMARCATED, MINIMUM 44-INCH-WIDE (1118
 MM) AISLE DEFINED BY FULL OR PARTIAL HEIGHT FIXED WALLS
 OR SIMILAR CONSTRUCTION THAT WILL MAINTAIN THE REQUIRED
 WIDTH AND LEAD DIRECTLY FROM THE RETAIL AREA TO THE
 EXIT WITHOUT OBSTRUCTIONS.
  
 3. AN EXIT ACCESS SHALL NOT PASS THROUGH A ROOM THAT
 CAN BE LOCKED TO PREVENT EGRESS.
  
 4. MEANS OF EGRESS FROM DWELLING UNITS OR SLEEPING
 AREAS SHALL NOT LEAD THROUGH OTHER SLEEPING AREAS,
 TOILET ROOMS OR BATHROOMS.
  
 4) PLEASE PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH 803.1 GENERAL.
 INTERIOR WALL AND CEILING FINISHES SHALL BE CLASSIFIED
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 84. SUCH INTERIOR FINISH
 MATERIALS SHALL BE GROUPED IN THE FOLLOWING CLASSES IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR FLAME SPREAD AND SMOKE-DEVELOPED
 INDEXES.
  
 CLASS A: FLAME SPREAD 0-25; SMOKE-DEVELOPED 0-450.
  
 CLASS B: FLAME SPREAD 26-75; SMOKE-DEVELOPED 0-450.
  
 CLASS C: FLAME SPREAD 76-200; SMOKE-DEVELOPED 0-450.
