| | 1. THIS OFFICE HAS REVIEWED THE REVISED PLANS AND HAVE |
| | ACKNOWLEDGED THE REVISIONS TO THE DRAWINGS REGARDING |
| | THE PREVIOUS FIRE CODE COMMENTS. |

| | 2. THE UPSTAIRS PORTION OF THE BUILDING SHALL COMPLY |
| | WITH NFPA 101 CHAPTER 26, LODGING OR ROOMING HOUSES. |
| | SINCE THE FIRE IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE ROOMING HOUSE |
| | PORTION HAS BEEN CLOSED. ACCORDING TO THE PREVAILING |
| | FIRE CODE, THE REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 26 "SHALL APPLY |
| | TO NEW BUILDINGS OR MODIFIED BUILDINGS ACCORDING TO THE |
| | PROVISIONS OF 1.3.1 OF THIS CODE". SECTION 1.3.1 |
| | INDICATES " THE CODE SHALL APPLY TO BOTH NEW |
| | CONSTRUCTION AND EXISTING BUILDINGS AND EXISTING |
| | STRUCTURES. |

| | 3. NFPA 101 CHAPTER 26, LODGING OR ROOMING HOUSES |
| | SPECIFICALLY 26.3.6.1 "ALL NEW LODGING OR ROOMING |
| | HOUSES, OTHER THAN THOSE MEETING 26.3.6.2 SHALL BE |
| | PROTECTED THROUGHOUT BY AN APPROVED AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER |
| | SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 26.3.6.3. SINCE THE ROOMING |
| | HOUSE WAS CLOSED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, THAT |
| | PORTION IS BEING CONSIDERED NEW. IT DOES NOT APPEAR |
| | THAT THE BUILDING MEETS THE EXCEPTION FOR NO SPRINKLERS |
| | AND THEREFORE THE BUILDING WILL NEED TO BE FIRE |
| | SPRINKLER PROTECTED WITH A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST A 13R |
| | FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM. SEPARATE PLANS AND PERMITS ARE |
| | REQUIRED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. |
