 CHAPTER 4; 401.4 A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL OR AN OWNER MUST
 ELECT ONE OR A COMBINATION OF LEVELS OF ALTERATION
 PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 403, 404 AND 405 OF THIS CODE.
 CHAPTER 10 ADDITIONS
 CHAPTER 11 HISTORIC BUILDING : A CONTRIBUTING BUILDING
  
 2) THERE APPEARS TO BE A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE PLANS
 AND THE PERMIT APPLICATION. THE PERMIT APPLICATION
 INDICATES UNDER THE DESCREPTION OF WORK, "MAIN HOUSE
 AND ADDITION". THE PERMIT SEET OF PLANS ALSO INCLUDES
 WORK TO BE COMPLETED ON THE REAR APPARTMENT;
 1) REPLACEMENT OF WINDOWSON THE REAR APARTMENT.
 2) NEW EXTERIOR STAIRS AT THE EXTERIOR APARTMENT.
 3) NEW OVERHANG AT REAR APARTMENT ( SEE ELEVATIONS)
 ELEVATION SHEETS A.2 & A.3 ARE OF THE MAIN HOUSE ONLY!
  
 THE INDEX ALSO FOUND ON THE COVERSHEET OF THE PLANS
 INDICATES THERE TO BE SHEETS CH.1, CH.2, CH-S.2 &
 CH-S.3 WHICH WERE NOT FOUND WITHIN THE PERMIT SET OF
 DOCUMENTS. IF THIS WORK IS TO BE PART OF THIS PROJECT
 IT WOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT TWO CREATE A SECOND PERMIT
 FOR THE REAR APARTMENT. THE INSPECTIONS WOULD BE ABLE
 TO BE IDENTIFIED AS TO WHICH BUILDING EACH INSPECTION
 WOULD HAVE BEEN TIED TO FOR RECORD RETENTION PURPOSES.
  
  
 3) 1105.1 STRICT COMPLIANCE. HISTORIC STRUCTURES OR
 PORTIONS OF SUCH STRUCTURES THAT DO NOT STRICTLY COMPLY
 WITH THIS CODE SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN COMPLIANCE
 IF IT CAN BE SHOWN TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE BUILDING
 CODE OFFICIAL THAT EQUIVALENT PROTECTION HAS BEEN
 PROVIDED OR THAT NO HAZARD WILL BE CREATED OR CONTINUED
 THROUGH NONCOMPLIANCE.
  
 1105.2 COMPLIANCE OPTION. LIFE SAFETY AND PROPERTY
 CONSERVATION SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ONE
 OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
  
 1. PRESCRIPTIVE-BASED PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE.
  
 2. COMPLIANCE ALTERNATIVE-BASED PROVISIONS OF THIS
 CODE.
  
 3. PERFORMANCE-BASED PROVISIONS OF NFPA 914, CODE FOR
 FIRE PROTECTION OF HISTORIC STRUCTURES, CHAPTER 6,
 ALONG WITH A STRUCTURAL EVALUATION AS SPECIFIED IN
 SECTION 1201.4.1 OF THIS CODE.
  
 4) 1106.1 INVESTIGATION AND EVALUATION REPORT. AN
 HISTORIC BUILDING UNDERGOING ALTERATION OR CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY SHALL BE INVESTIGATED AND EVALUATED. IF IT IS
 INTENDED THAT THE BUILDING MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 THIS CHAPTER, A WRITTEN REPORT SHALL BE PREPARED AND
 FILED WITH THE BUILDING OFFICIAL BY A
 FLORIDA-REGISTERED ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER. SUCH REPORT
 SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS
 4.3.1.2 THROUGH 4.3.2 OF NFPA 914, CODE FOR FIRE
 PROTECTION OF HISTORIC STRUCTURES AND SHALL IDENTIFY
 EACH REQUIRED SAFETY FEATURE THAT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH
 THIS CHAPTER AND WHERE COMPLIANCE WITH THIS OR OTHER
 CHAPTERS WOULD BE DAMAGING TO THE CONTRIBUTING HISTORIC
 FEATURES. IN ADDITION, THE REPORT SHALL DESCRIBE EACH
 FEATURE THAT IS NOT IN COMPLIANCE AND DEMONSTRATE HOW
 THE INTENT OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS OR OTHER CHAPTERS
 ARE COMPLIED WITH IN PROVIDING AN EQUIVALENT LEVEL OF
 SAFETY.
  
 5A) PLANS DO NOT INDICATE A VENTED UNDER FLOOR
 SPACE.R408.3 UNVENTED CRAWL SPACE.
 VENTILATION OPENINGS IN UNDER-FLOOR SPACES SPECIFIED IN
 SECTIONS R408.1 AND R408.2 SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED WHERE:
  
 1. EXPOSED EARTH IS COVERED WITH A CONTINUOUS VAPOR
 RETARDER. JOINTS OF THE VAPOR RETARDER SHALL OVERLAP BY
 6 INCHES (152 MM) AND SHALL BE SEALED OR TAPED. THE
 EDGES OF THE VAPOR RETARDER SHALL EXTEND AT LEAST 6
 INCHES (152 MM) UP THE STEM WALL AND SHALL BE ATTACHED
 AND SEALED TO THE STEM WALL; AND
  
 2. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING IS PROVIDED FOR THE UNDER-FLOOR
 SPACE:
  
 2.1. CONTINUOUSLY OPERATED MECHANICAL EXHAUST
 VENTILATION AT A RATE EQUAL TO 1 CFM (0.47 L/S) FOR

 INCLUDING AN AIR PATHWAY TO THE COMMON AREA (SUCH AS A
 DUCT OR TRANSFER GRILLE), AND PERIMETER WALLS INSULATED
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION N1102.B;
  
 2.2. CONDITIONED AIR SUPPLY SIZED TO DELIVER AT A RATE
 EQUAL TO 1 CFM (0.47 L/S) FOR EACH 50 FT2 (4.7 M2) OF
