 NOTE: THE SOIL REPORT FROM ARDAMAN & ASSOCIATES, INC.
 RECOMMENDED CONCRETE / BRICK PAVERS FOR THE
 CONSTRUCTION OF WALKWAYS AND DECKS BECAUSE THEY ARE
 BEST SUITED FOR SITES WITH COMPRESSIBLE SOILS. THEY
 ALLOW SIGNIFICANT SETTLEMENT WITHOUT SIGNS OF DISTRESS
 AND THE AREAS WHERE THEY ARE USED CAN BE EASILY
 REPAIRED BY REMOVING THE PAVERS, REGARDING THE SUB
 GRADE AND LAYING THE PAVERS ON THE RE-LEVELED SURFACE.
 SHEET S-1 SHOWS THE DECK AREA AS A 4 INCH CONCRETE SLAB
 AND SHEET A-13 INDICATES SIMULATED STONE PAVERS OVER
 CONCRETE SLAB. IS THERE A REASON WHY THE ABOVE
 RECOMMENDATION IS BEING ALTERED?
  
 1) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS NECESSARY. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
 PLEASE RESUBMIT ONE OLD SET WITH TWO NEW REVISED SETS.

 2) PLEASE SUBMIT 2 OF ALL SURVEYS, PLANS, REPORTS,

 RESIDENT INSPECTOR OR IF YOUR PROJECT IS A THRESHOLD
 BUILDING REQUIRING A THRESHOLD INSPECTOR THEN (3) THREE
 SETS OF ALL SAID DOCUMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR PERMIT

 3) LS1.0 OCCUPANCY IS INDICATED AS AN A2 BANQUET HALL
 PLEASE CORRECT TO AN A3 OCCUPANCY SECTION 303.
  
 4) LS1.0 INDICATES THIS BUILDING IS LOCATED WITHIN A
 FIRE ZONE. THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH NO LONGER HAS
 FIRE ZONES; THEY WERE ELIMINATED WHILE UNDER THE 2001
 FBC.
  
 5) S-4 UNDER THE HEADING OF AUGERED CAST PILE, FOOTNOTE
 (G) THE CONTRACTOR IS TO ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF A
 FLORIDA REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER TO SUPERVISE
 AND CERTIFY THAT THE PILE INSTALLATION WORK COMPLIES
 WITH THE DESIGN REQUIREMENTS. THERE WAS NO PAPERWORK
 INDICATING AS SUCH. 1810.3.
  
 6) AUGERED CAST-IN-PLACE PILES SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED
 WITHIN SIX PILE DIAMETERS CENTER TO CENTER OF A PILE
 FILLED WITH CONCRETE LESS THAN 12 HOURS OLD. 1810.3.3
  
 7) SHEET S-4 UNDER THE HEADING OF WIND LOADS INDICATES
 IN (2) AREAS THE 2004 FBC WITH 2005, 2006 AMENDMENTS,
 NO MENTION OF THE 2007 AMENDMENTS TO THE 2004 FBC,
 BUILDING CODE.
  
 8) THE SUBMITTED PLANS (ARCHITECTURAL ARE DATED FEB. 2,
 2009), FL S S 255.2575. PLANS THAT ARE COMMENCED AFTER
 JULY1, 2008 SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED TO MEET THE UNITED
 STATES GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (USGBC), LEADERSHIP IN
 ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED) RATING SYSTEM,
 THE GREEN BUILDING INITIATIVE'S GREEN GLOBAL RATING
 SYSTEM, THE FLORIDA GREEN BUILDING COALITION STANDARDS,
 OR A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED, HIGH PERFORMANCE GREEN
 BUILDING RATING SYSTEM AS APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF
 MANAGEMENT SERVICES. PLEASE INDICATE WHICH OF THESE
 RATING SYSTEMS YOU HAVE DESIGN TOO AND WHAT LEVEL.

 THE PRODUCT APPROVAL PLEASE CIRCLE OR HI-LIGHT WHICH
 ITEMS OR SYSTEMS PERTAIN TO THE INSTALLATION OF EACH
 PRODUCT EXAMPLE THE SIZE OF THE IMPACT GLASS. LOUVERS

 FASTENING FOR CORNER AND PERIMETER ZONES.

 11) SHEET A-1.1. THE PLANS NEED TO CLEARLY SHOW THE
 TYPE OF MATERIALS WHICH WILL BE USED TO CONSTRUCT ALL
 INTERIOR WALLS. PROVIDE A WALL LEGEND WITH A NUMBER OR
 LETTER DESCRIBING EACH WALL TYPE BOTH INTERIOR AND
 EXTERIOR. PLEASE INDICATE THE MOISTURE PROTECTION AND
 WALL ASSEMBLY AT THE CONCRETE BLOCK EXTERIOR WALLS.
  
 12) SHEET A-1.1. THE SLOPE OF THE CONCRETE RAMP NEXT TO
 THE ELECTRICAL ROOM CANNOT BE 1:12 IF THE SLOPED AREA
 IS ONLY 10 FEET. FBC 11-4.8.2 SLOPE & RISE. THE LEAST
 POSSIBLE SLOPE SHALL BE USED FOR ANY RAMP. THE MAXIMUM
 SLOPE FOR A RAMP IN NEW CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE 1 TO 12.
 THE MAXIMUM RISE FOR RUN SHALL BE 30" (SEE FIGURE 16).
 11-4.8.4. (2) LANDINGS. ALL LANDINGS ON RAMPS SHALL NOT
 BE LESS THAN 60" CLEAR, & THE BOTTOM OF EACH RAMP SHALL
 HAVE NOT LESS THAN 72" OF STRAIGHT & LEVEL CLEARANCE.
 11-4.8.4(3) IF RAMPS CHANGE DIRECTION AT LANDINGS, THE
 MINIMUM LANDING SIZE SHALL BE 60" X 60". 11.4.8.5.
 HANDRAILS: IF A RAMP HAS A RISE GREATER THAN 6" OR A
 HORIZONTAL PROJECTION GREATER THAN 72", THEN IT SHALL
 HAVE HANDRAILS ON BOTH SIDES.
  
 13) THE ELECTRICAL ROOM WHICH IS USUALLY ENCLOSED IN A
 ONE-HOUR-RATED WALL SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 SECTION 302.1.1.1, WHICH REQUIRES THE WALLS TO BE
 CAPABLE OF RESISTING THE PASSAGE OF SMOKE. THE
 PARTITIONS SHALL EXTEND FROM THE FLOOR TO THE UNDERSIDE
 OF THE DECK ABOVE. THIS INFORMATION IS ALSO STATED IN
 NFPA 101 LIFE SAFETY; 8.7.1.2
  
 14) 11-4.22.3 BOTH BATHROOMS ON SHEET A-1.1 SHALL
 INDICATE THE UNOBSTRUCTED TURNING SPACE IN THE
 ACCESSIBLE TOILET ROOMS.
  
 15) SHEET A-1.2 PROVIDE THE SHOP INFORMATION FOR THE
 SUN CONTROL DEVICE SYSTEM. THE DRAWINGS SHALL INCLUDE
 THE WIND DESIGN INFORMATION PER 1603.1.4 / 1609.6.2 AND
 ALL CONNECTION DETAILS AND MATERIALS.
  
 16) THE ENERGY CALCULATIONS SUBMITTED DO NOT CORRESPOND
 WITH THE PLANS. EXAMPLE, THE COMPONENTS FOR THE
 FLOORING IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM ON THE ENERGY
 CALCULATION SHOWS CONCRETE FLOOR WITH CARPET, HOWEVER,
 THE FLOOR FINISHES ON SHEET A-8.0 INDICATES PORCELAIN
 TILE. THE ROOM FINISH SCHEDULE DOES NOT INDICATE ANY
 CARPET BEING INSTALLED IN ANY ROOM. PLEASE REVIEW THE
 PLANS AND THE ENERGY CALCULATIONS AND MAKE SURE THE
 COMPONENTS CORRESPOND WITH EACH OTHER.
  
 17) SHEET A-1.3 THIS SHEET MAKES REFERENCES TO A NUMBER
 OF DETAILS ON OTHER SHEETS HOWEVER, THE DETAILS ON
 THOSE SHEETS DO NOT CORRESPOND WITH THE REFERENCE OR
 THE SHEET IS NOT IN THE SET. CLARIFY. THIS PROBLEM
 OCCURS ON OTHER PAGES; PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DETAIL
 REFERENCE MATCHES THE PAGE IT???S REFERRING TO.
  
 18) SHEET A-7.3 AND SHEET S-7 FAIL TO INDICATE HOW THE
 METAL DECK WILL BE ATTACHED TO THE STRUCTURAL STEEL
 JOISTS; WILL THE DECK BE WELDED OR SCREWED TO THE
 JOISTS? 106.1.2. THE PLANS ALSO FAIL TO INDICATE THE
 LOCATION AND SIZE OF THE ROOF VENTILATION SYSTEM OF THE
 BUILDING. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED 106.1.2*
  
 19) THE PLANS FAIL TO INDICATE THE LOCATION OF WEEP
 HOLES, WHICH SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM SPACING OF 33 INCHES
 ON CENTER WITH HOLES NOT LESS THAN 3/16 INCHES IN

 20) 11-4.1.3(1) AT LEAST ONE ACCESSIBLE ROUTE COMPLYING

 "A" FLOOD ZONE. A FLOOD ELEVATION CERTIFICATE WILL BE
 REQUIRED.
