 2. PG M-1 AND M-2: PLAN CALLS FOR EXTENSION OF KITCHEN
 EXHAUST DUCT FROM EXISTING ROOF TO NEW ROOF. THERE IS
 NO DETAIL FOR THE INSTALLATION OF (ASSUMED TO BE)
 GREASE EXHAUST DUCT AND EXHAUST FAN ON NEW ROOF SHOWING
 COMPLIANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
 - FBCM 301.13 FOR WIND RESISTANCE.
 - FBCM 506.3.12.1, 506.3.12.3 AND ALL PORTIONS OF 506.5
 FOR CLEARANCES, LOCATION AND HEIGHT ABOVE ROOF.
 - FBCM 401.5 FOR INTAKE AND EXHAUST LOCATIONS.
 - FBCM 304.10 IF LESS THAN 10 FEET FROM THE ROOF EDGE.
 - FBCM 306.5 FOR SERVICE ACCESS.
 - FBCM 301.4.4 EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES AND DEVICES SHALL
 NOT BE REUSED UNLESS SUCH ELEMENTS HAVE BEEN
 RECONDITIONED, TESTED AND PLACED IN GOOD AND PROPER
 WORKING CONDITION AND APPROVED.
 NOTE: ONCE THE EXISTING KITCHEN EXHAUST SYSTEM IS
 MODIFIED IN ANY WAY, THE SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE TESTED,
 BALANCED AND RE-CERTIFIED TO DEMONSTRATE COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE KITCHEN HOOD LISTING
 AND/OR THE REQUIREMENTS OF FBCM 506 AND 507.

 2. NOT FULLY ADDRESSED. NO INFORMATION IS SHOWN ON
 PLANS REGARDING CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE KITCHEN HOOD
 EXHAUST FAN SUCH AS WIND RESISTANCE, CLEARANCES,
 HEIGHTS, SERVICE ACCESS, GUARDS, ETC. SEE PREVIOUS
 COMMENT #2 FOR ALL CODE REQUIREMENTS WHICH NEED TO BE
 ADDRESSED. PROVIDE SUFFICIENT DETAIL TO DEMONSTRATE
 COMPLIANCE WITH ALL OF THESE REQUIREMENTS. ONE OR MORE
 ELEVATION VIEWS MAY BE HELPFUL.
  
 **3RD REVIEW** PLEASE ADDREESS EACH OF THESE SPECIFIC
 CODE REQUIREMENTS AS LISTED BELOW:
 A. FBCM 301.13 FOR WIND RESISTANCE. AN INSTALLATION
 DETAIL HAS BEEN ADDED TO PAGE M2 FOR THE ROOFTOP
 EXHAUST FAN. HOWEVER, THE EF SCHEDULE ON M1 LISTS A FAN
 WITH A MIAMI-DADE NOA TO DEMONSTRATE COMPLIANCE WITH
 THIS SECTION. THIS INSTALLATION OF THE EXHAUST FAN AND
 ASSOCIATED ROOF CURB SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
 REFERENCED NOA. PLEASE PROVIDE 3 COPIES OF THE PRODUCT
 APPROVAL FOR THIS SYSTEM APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBCB 106.3.3.
  
 B. FBCM 506.3.12.1 TERMINATION ABOVE THE ROOF. EXHAUST
 OUTLETS THAT TERMINATE ABOVE THE ROOF SHALL HAVE THE
 DISCHARGE OPENING LOCATED NOT LESS THAN 40 INCHES ABOVE
 THE ROOF SURFACE.
  
 C. FBCM 506.3.12.3 TERMINATION LOCATION. EXHAUST
 OUTLETS SHALL BE LOCATED NOT LESS THAN 10 FEET
 HORIZONTALLY FROM PARTS OF THE SAME OR CONTIGUOUS
 BUILDINGS, ADJACENT PROPERTY LINES AND AIR INTAKE
 OPENINGS INTO ANY BUILDING. PLEASE SHOW DISTANCES FROM
 PARTS OF THE SAME OR CONTIGUOUS BUILDINGS. WILL THERE
 BE PARAPETS AROUND THIS FAN? IF SO, WHAT IS THE HEIGHT
 OF THE PARAPETS AROUND THE FAN? THE MINIMUM HORIZONTAL
 DISTANCE BETWEEN VERTICAL DISCHARGE FANS AND
 PARAPET-TYPE BUILDING STRUCTURES MAY BE 2 FEET PROVIDED
 THAT SUCH STRUCTURES ARE NOT HIGHER THAN THE TOP OF THE
 FAN DISCHARGE OPENING IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBCM 506.5.5.
 SEE ALSO FBCM 401.5 OPENING LOCATION. OUTDOOR AIR
 EXHAUST OPENINGS SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 10 FEET
 FROM LOT LINES OR BUILDINGS ON THE SAME LOT. PLEASE
 SHOW THE MINIMUM DISTANCE FROM ADJACENT PROPERTY LINES.
  
 D. FBCM 506.5.3 EXHAUST FAN MOUNTING.AN UPBLAST FAN
 SHALL BE HINGED AND SUPPLIED WITH A FLEXIBLE
 WEATHERPROOF ELECTRICAL CABLE TO PERMIT INSPECTION AND
 CLEANING. THE DUCTWORK SHALL EXTEND A MINIMUM OF 18
 INCHES ABOVE THE ROOF SURFACE. NONE OF THIS INFORMATION
 IS SHOWN ON THE INSTALLATION DETAIL ON PLANS. THIS
 INFORMATION MIGHT BE PROVIDED WITH THE NOA REFERENCED
 IN COMMENT A ABOVE. PLEASE PROVIDE THE PRODUCT APPROVAL
 AND REMOVE ANY INSTALLATION DETAIL WHICH MAY BE IN
 CONFLICT WITH THE PRODUCT APPROVAL'S INSTALLTION
 INSTRUCTIONS.
  
 E. FBCM 304.10 GUARDS. GUARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE
 APPLIANCES, EQUIPMENT, FANS OR OTHER COMPONENTS THAT
 REQUIRE SERVICE ARE LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET (3048 MM) OF
 A ROOF EDGE OR OPEN SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE AND SUCH
 EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS LOCATED MORE THAN 30 INCHES ABOVE
 THE FLOOR, ROOF OR GRADE BELOW. PAGE A-8 SHOWS A DETAIL
 FOR A "ROOF MAINTENANCE ANCHOR." IS THIS INTENDED TO BE
 AN ALTERNATE TO THE GUARD REQUIREMENTS? IF SO, THIS
 MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL IN WRITING
 AS A REQUEST FOR ALTERNATE MATERIALS OR METHODS UNDER
 THE PROVISIONS OF FBCB 104.11.
  
 F. FBCM 306.5 EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES ON ROOFS OR
 ELEVATED STRUCTURES. WHERE EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES
 REQUIRING ACCESS ARE INSTALLED ON ROOFS OR ELEVATED
 STRUCTURES AT A HEIGHT EXCEEDING 16 FEET, SUCH ACCESS
 SHALL BE PROVIDED BY A PERMANENT APPROVED MEANS OF
 ACCESS, THE EXTENT OF WHICH SHALL BE FROM GRADE OR
 FLOOR LEVEL TO THE EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES? LEVEL
 SERVICE SPACE. SUCH ACCESS SHALL NOT REQUIRE CLIMBING
 OVER OBSTRUCTIONS GREATER THAN 30 INCHES HIGH. PLEASE
 SHOW ON PLANS HOW THIS APPLIANCE IS TO BE ACCESSED FOR
 SERVICE, CLEANING, MAINTENANCE OR REPLACEMENT.
  
 G. FBCM 301.4.4 EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES AND DEVICES SHALL
 NOT BE REUSED UNLESS SUCH ELEMENTS HAVE BEEN
