 812.4.1.1MEANS OF EGRESS FOR CHANGE TO HIGHER HAZARD
 CATEGORY.
 WHEN A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY GROUP IS MADE TO A HIGHER
 HAZARD CATEGORY (LOWER NUMBER) AS SHOWN IN TABLE
 812.4.1, THE MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 10 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING

 FOR CONTINUED USE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BUILDING
 CODE OFFICIAL.
 4. WHERE AN EXISTING CORRIDOR IS REQUIRED TO BE FIRE
 RATED, EQUIVALENCY CAN BE ACHIEVED BY EITHER
 SPRINKLERING THE BUILDING OR USING EQUIVALENCY AS PER
 NFPA 914 OR CHAPTER 7 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 BUILDING FOR FIRE RESISTANCE. ALSO, SEE SECTION 1001.2
 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
 5. EXISTING CORRIDOR DOORWAYS, TRANSOMS, AND OTHER
 CORRIDOR OPENINGS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS IN
 SECTIONS 605.5.1, 605.5.2, AND 605.5.3.
 6. EXISTING DEAD-END CORRIDORS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS IN SECTION 605.6.
 7. WHERE EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENINGS ARE
 REQUIRED, AN EXISTING OPERABLE WINDOW WITH CLEAR
 OPENING AREA NO LESS THAN 4 SQUARE FEET (0.38 M2) AND
 WITH MINIMUM OPENING HEIGHT AND WIDTH OF 22 INCHES (559
 MM) AND 20 INCHES (508 MM), RESPECTIVELY, WITH MAXIMUM
 SILL HEIGHT AT 44 INCHES (1118 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR OR
 APPROVED PERMANENT ELEVATED AREA, SHALL BE ACCEPTED AS
 AN EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENING.
  
 2) PLEASE STATE IF CARE WILL BE PROVIDED ON A 24 HOUR/7
 DAY BASIS.
  
 3) PLEASE INDICATE OCCUPANCY LOAD.
  
 4) PLEASE SHOW THAT THE EXISTING BEDROOM WINDOW
 OPENINGS WILL SATISFY THE EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE
 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE
  
 1025.1 GENERAL.
 IN ADDITION TO THE MEANS OF EGRESS REQUIRED BY THIS
 CHAPTER, PROVISIONS SHALL BE MADE FOR EMERGENCY ESCAPE
 AND RESCUE IN GROUP R AS APPLICABLE IN SECTION 101.2
 AND GROUP I-1 OCCUPANCIES. BASEMENTS AND SLEEPING ROOMS
 BELOW THE FOURTH STORY ABOVE GRADE PLANE SHALL HAVE AT
 LEAST ONE EXTERIOR EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENING
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SECTION. WHERE BASEMENTS
 CONTAIN ONE OR MORE SLEEPING ROOMS, EMERGENCY EGRESS
 AND RESCUE OPENINGS SHALL BE REQUIRED IN EACH SLEEPING
 ROOM, BUT SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED IN ADJOINING AREAS OF
 THE BASEMENT. SUCH OPENING SHALL OPEN DIRECTLY INTO A
 PUBLIC STREET, PUBLIC ALLEY, YARD OR COURT. THE
 EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENING SHALL BE PERMITTED
 TO OPEN INTO A SCREEN ENCLOSURE, OPEN TO THE
 ATMOSPHERE, WHERE A SCREEN DOOR IS PROVIDED LEADING
 AWAY FROM THE RESIDENCE. SUCH OPENING SHALL BE
 OPERATIONAL FROM THE INSIDE WITHOUT THE USE OF SPECIAL
 KNOWLEDGE, KEYS OR TOOLS.
  
 1025.2 MINIMUM SIZE.
 EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENINGS SHALL HAVE A
 MINIMUM NET CLEAR OPENING OF 5.7 SQUARE FEET (0.53
 M2).
 EXCEPTION: THE MINIMUM NET CLEAR OPENING FOR EMERGENCY
 ESCAPE AND RESCUE GRADE-FLOOR OPENINGS SHALL BE 5
 SQUARE FEET (0.46 M2).
 1025.2.1 MINIMUM DIMENSIONS.
 THE MINIMUM NET CLEAR OPENING HEIGHT DIMENSION SHALL BE
 24 INCHES (610 MM). THE MINIMUM NET CLEAR OPENING WIDTH
 DIMENSION SHALL BE 20 INCHES (508 MM). THE NET CLEAR
 OPENING DIMENSIONS SHALL BE THE RESULT OF NORMAL
 OPERATION OF THE OPENING.
 1025.3 MAXIMUM HEIGHT FROM FLOOR.
 EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENINGS SHALL HAVE THE
 BOTTOM OF THE CLEAR OPENING NOT GREATER THAN 44 INCHES
 (1118 MM) MEASURED FROM THE FLOOR.
  
  
 5) THE PLAN DOES NOT INDICATE THE LOCATIONS OF THE
 MEANS OF EGRESS ILLUMINATION/SIGNS: EXIT SIGNS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED AS PER FBC 1006:
  
 SECTION 1006
 MEANS OF EGRESS ILLUMINATION AND SIGNS
 1006.1 MEANS OF EGRESS ILLUMINATION.
 1006.1.1
 ILLUMINATION OF MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SECTION FOR EVERY BUILDING AND
 STRUCTURE. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS REQUIREMENT, EXIT
 ACCESS SHALL INCLUDE ONLY DESIGNATED STAIRS, AISLES,
 CORRIDORS, RAMPS, ESCALATORS AND PASSAGEWAYS LEADING TO
 AN EXIT. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS REQUIREMENT, EXIT
 DISCHARGE SHALL INCLUDE ONLY DESIGNATED STAIRS, AISLES,
 CORRIDORS, RAMPS, ESCALATORS, WALKWAYS AND EXIT
 PASSAGEWAYS LEADING TO A PUBLIC WAY.
 EXCEPTIONS:
 1. WHEN APPROVED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL, ILLUMINATION
 OF MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED IN INDUSTRIAL
 AND STORAGE OCCUPANCIES THAT ARE OCCUPIED ONLY DURING
 DAYLIGHT HOURS, WITH SKYLIGHTS OR WINDOWS ARRANGED TO
 PROVIDE THE REQUIRED LEVEL OF ILLUMINATION ON ALL
 PORTIONS OF THE MEANS OF EGRESS DURING THESE HOURS.
 2. ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY PRIVATE PARTY TENTS OF 1,200
 SQUARE FEET (111 M2) OR LESS SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO
 PROVIDE ILLUMINATION OF MEANS OF EGRESS.
 3. OPEN STRUCTURES SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE
 ILLUMINATION OF MEANS OF EGRESS.
 4. TOWERS OCCUPIED BY NOT MORE THAN THREE PERSONS SHALL
 NOT BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ILLUMINATION OF MEANS OF
 EGRESS.
  
 1006.3 EXIT SIGNS.
 1006.3.1
 EXITS SHALL BE MARKED BY AN APPROVED SIGN READILY
 VISIBLE FROM ANY DIRECTION OF EXIT ACCESS. EVERY EXIT
 SIGN SHALL BE SUITABLY ILLUMINATED BY A RELIABLE LIGHT
 SOURCE. EXTERNALLY AND INTERNALLY ILLUMINATED SIGNS
 SHALL BE VISIBLE IN BOTH NORMAL AND EMERGENCY
 LIGHTING.
 EXCEPTION: MAIN EXTERIOR EXIT DOORS THAT OBVIOUSLY AND
 CLEARLY ARE IDENTIFIABLE AS EXITS.
  
 6) THE ENTRY DOOR SHOWN ON THE FLOOR PLAN REQUIRES A
 MINIMUM CLEAR WIDTH OF 32". THEREFORE, THE EXTERIOR
 2"-8" DOOR DOES NOT MEET THE MINIMUM CLEAR WIDTH
 REQUIREMENT:
  
 1008.1.1 SIZE OF DOORS.
 THE MINIMUM WIDTH OF EACH DOOR OPENING SHALL BE
 SUFFICIENT FOR THE OCCUPANT LOAD THEREOF AND SHALL
 PROVIDE A CLEAR WIDTH OF NOT LESS THAN 32 INCHES (813
 MM). CLEAR OPENINGS OF DOORWAYS WITH SWINGING DOORS
 SHALL BE MEASURED BETWEEN THE FACE OF THE DOOR AND THE
 STOP, WITH THE DOOR OPEN 90 DEGREES (1.57 RAD). WHERE
 THIS SECTION REQUIRES A MINIMUM CLEAR WIDTH OF 32
 INCHES (813 MM) AND A DOOR OPENING INCLUDES TWO DOOR
 LEAVES WITHOUT A MULLION, ONE LEAF SHALL PROVIDE A
 CLEAR OPENING WIDTH OF 32 INCHES (813 MM). THE MAXIMUM
 WIDTH OF A SWINGING DOOR LEAF SHALL BE 48 INCHES (1219
 MM) NOMINAL. MEANS OF EGRESS DOORS IN AN OCCUPANCY IN
 GROUP I-2 USED FOR THE MOVEMENT OF BEDS SHALL PROVIDE A
 CLEAR WIDTH NOT LESS THAN 41? INCHES (1054 MM). THE
 HEIGHT OF DOORS SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 80 INCHES (2032
 MM).
  
 7) PLEASE INDICATE THE EXISTING THRESHOLD ELEVATIONS AT
 THE ENTRY AND SLIDING GLASS DOOR:
  
 1008.1.6 THRESHOLDS.
 THRESHOLDS AT DOORWAYS SHALL NOT EXCEED 0.75 INCH (19.1
 MM) IN HEIGHT FOR SLIDING DOORS SERVING DWELLING UNITS
 OR 0.5 INCH (12.7 MM) FOR OTHER DOORS. RAISED
 THRESHOLDS AND FLOOR LEVEL CHANGES GREATER THAN 0.25
 INCH (6.4 MM) AT DOORWAYS SHALL BE BEVELED WITH A SLOPE
 NOT GREATER THAN ONE UNIT VERTICAL IN TWO UNITS
 HORIZONTAL (50-PERCENT SLOPE).
  
 8) PLEASE INDICATE IF THERE ARE ANY EXISTING
 STAIRS/HANDRAILS.
  
 9) PLEASE SHOW THAT THE EXISTING CONDITIONS WILL
 SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS:
