 DENIED BY BUILDING
  
 1) A RECORDED COPY OF THE NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT WILL
 BE REQUIRED.
  
 2) THE REQUIRED SOIL BEARING CAPACITY SPECIFIED ON
 SHEET A2.O OF THE PLANS IS 2500 PSF. THE GEOTECHNICAL
 REPORT INDICATES A MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE BEARING OF 1500
 PSF. PLEASE RESOLVE.
  
 3) THE WIND CRITERIA ON A-1.0 SPECIFIES THE WRONG
 SECTION OF FBC 2004. THE CORRECT SECTION IS 1609.
  
 4) SPECIFY THE TRUSS BOTTOM CORD LIVE LOAD ON THE
 PLANS. FBC TABLE R301.5 SPECIFIES THE LIVE LOAD FOR
 ATTICS WITH STORAGE AS 20 PSF.
  
 5) SPECIFY THE METHOD OF TERMITE TREATMENT ON THE
 PLANS. SEE FBC 320.1.
  
 6) THE PLANS DO NOT SPECIFY THAT THE EXISTING WINDOW IN
 BEDROOM 3 THAT IS BEING REMOVED IS A FIXED WINDOW OR
 THAT THE OTHER EXISTING WINDOW IN THIS BEDROOM WHICH
 APPEARS TO BE A HORIZONTAL SLIDING WINDOW IS THE EGRESS
 WINDOW. SECTION 501.2 OF THE 2004 FBC EXISTING BUILDING
 CODE DOES NOT ALLOW EXISTING BUILDING TO BE ALTERED
 SUCH THAT THE BUILDING BECOMES ANY LESS SAFE. PLEASE
 SPECIFY THIS INFORMATION AND SHOW THAT BEDROOM 3 WILL
 COMPLY.
  
 7) THE DESIGN DATA ON SHEET A1.0 SPECIFIES EXPOSURE B.
 THE DESIGN INFORMATION ON SHEET A2.0 SPECIFIES EXPOSURE
 C. PLEASE CORRECT. FBC 106.1.1* CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
 8) PROVIDE BUCK FASTENING DETAILS FOR THE GARAGE SIDE
 ENTRY DOOR AND THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR. SEE FBC
 R613.1.1. THE PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR THE FRONT DOOR DOES
 PROVIDE BUCK FASTENING DETAILS. HOWEVER, THE PRODUCT
 APPROVALS FOR OTHER DOORS REQUIRE THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD TO SPECIFY THE BUCK ATTACHMENT.
  
 9)ON SHEET A-2.0 THE MEAN ROOF HEIGHT IS SPECIFIED AS
 14 FEET ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL. THIS IS NOT CORRECT. THE
 MEAN ROOF HEIGHT IS TAKEN FROM FINAL GRADE.
  
 10) ON SHEET A4.0 THE UPLIFT CONNECTORS SPECIFIED FOR
 THE ROOF TRUSSES ARE SIMPSON MTS12. THESE ARE WOOD TO
 WOOD CONNECTORS. THE PLANS APPEAR SHOW A 2X PLATE ON
 THE TIE BEAM BUT DOES NOT SPECIFY HOW IT IS ATTACHED.
 THE MTS STRAPS REQUIRE 7 NAILS TO THE TRUSS AND 7 TO
 THE WALL. ONE 2X WILL NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE SURFACE FOR
 NAILING. ANOTHER TYPE OF ANCHOR SUCH AS A HMTSM 16 FOR
 ATTACHING TO MASONRY/CONCRETE COULD BE USED.SPECIFY
 THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF FASTENERS.
  
 10) THE NOTE ON A4.0 FOR THE MTS 12 STATES THAT THE
 UPLIFT EXCEEDS THE LOADS ON SHEET A2.0. THE ONLY
 UPLIFTS SPECIFIED ON A2.0 ARE FOR THE COMPONENTS AND
 CLADDING. UPLIFTS ON THE TRUSSES ARE DIFFERENT AND
 SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER.
