 EXISTING IS THE PERIMETER PILINGS AND
 PERIMETER BEAMS (SEE DETAIL D, NOTES 7
 AND 8).REFER ALSO TO COMMENT NO. 1
 FROM THE PREVIOUS PLAN REVIEW DATED
 9/4/02.WITH DUE CONSIDERATION OF
 FBC 3401.7.2 AND FBC* F102.1, THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL HAS AGREED TO PERMIT
 THIS EXTENSIVE REPAIR TO AN EXISTING
 TYPE VI BUILDING, IN THE FIRE DISTRICT,
 IN ORDER TO ENABLE COMPLIANCE WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE HISTORICAL
 PRESERVATION DIVISION.HOWEVER, AS THE
 ALTERATIONS WILL AMOUNT TO MORE THAN 50%
 OF THE VALUE OF THE EXISTING BUILDING,
 IT MUST BE MADE TO CONFORM TO ALL OTHER
 REQUIREMENTS FOR A NEW TYPE VI BUILDING

 AS SHEARWALLS.SPECIFY WHICH INTERIOR
 WALLS WILL BE USED, AND THE SHEARWALL
 MATERIALS AND NAIL TYPE/SIZE/SPACING.
  
 18) FBC 2313.4GABLE ENDWALL.THE
 GABLE ENDWALL STUDS SHALL BE
 STRUCTURALLY CONTINUOUS UPTO THE ROOF
 SHEATHING, AND FULL DEPTH ROOF BRACING
 SHALL BE PROVIDED AT 4 FT O.C. BETWEEN
 THE FIRST 3 TRUSSES.ALTERNATIVELY, THE
 CEILING SHALL BE REQUIRED TO ACT AS A
 DIAPHRAGM, AND DESIGNED ACCORDINGLY, TO
 PROVIDE LATERAL SUPPORT TO THE STUDS AND
 GABLE END TRUSS.PROVIDE DETAILS TO
