 1) SHEET A-1 THE PERMIT APPLICATION UNDER THE HEADING
 OF DESCRIPTION OF WORK STATES REPLACE TUB & RETILE
 BATH. THE SHEET A1 STATES REMOVE TUB AND RETILE
 BATHROOM.
  
 1A) THE 1ST QUESTION IS THE TUB BEING REPLACED WITH A
 TUB OR IS THERE GOING TO BE A NEW SHOWER IN THE SAME
 LOCATION. 107.2.1.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 1B) POST TENSION SLAB/ NEW HOLES. THE PLAN IS SILENT AS
 IF THE LOCATION OF THE EXISTING TUB DRAIN IS GOING TO
 BE REUSED IN THE SAME LOCATION. IF NOT, THEN THE FLOOR
 SLAB WILL NEED TO BE X-RAYED TO FIND THE POST TENSION
 CHORD LOCATIONS. 107.2.1.2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS
 REQUIRED.
  
 1C) THROUGH-PENETRATIONS FIRESTOP SYSTEMS (HORIZONTAL
 ASSEMBLIES). IF A NEW FLOOR PENETRATION IS MADE FOR THE
 FUTURE SHOWER DRAIN, THEN YOU NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE 2020 FBC-B SECTION 714.5.1.2.
 THROUGH-PENETRATIONS FIRESTOP SYSTEMS (HORIZONTAL
 ASSEMBLIES). THROUGH PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROTECTED BY
 A THROUGH PENETRATION FIRESTOP SYSTEM INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E814 OR UL 1479. THE SYSTEM SHALL
 HAVE AN F RATING / T RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 1 HOUR BUT
 NOT LESS THAN THE REQUIRED RATING OF THE FLOOR
 PENETRATED.
  
 1D) THE PLANS ARE SILENT AS TO THE BACKER BOARD FOR THE
 WALL TILE. 2020 FBC-B 2509.2 BASE FOR TILE. MATERIALS
 USED AS A BASE FOR WALL TILE IN TUB AND SHOWER AREAS
 AND WALLS AND CEILING PANELS IN SHOWER AREAS SHALL BE
 OF MATERIALS LISTED IN TABLE 2509.2 AND INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER?S RECOMMENDATIONS. WATER
 RESISTANT GYPSUM BACKING BOARD SHALL BE USED AS A BASE
 FOR TILE IN WATER CLOSET COMPARTMENT WALLS WHEN
 INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH GA-216 OR ASTM C840 AND
 THE MANUFACTURE?S RECOMMENDATIONS.
  
 1E) THE PROPOSED SHEET A1 DOES NOT STATE WHAT WALLS ARE
 TO BE TILED NOR THE HEIGHT. 2020 FBC-B SHOWERS & TUBS
 1210.3. SHOWER COMPARTMENTS AND BATHTUBS WITH INSTALLED
 SHOWER HEADS SHALL BE FINISHED WITH A NONABSORBENT
 SURFACE TO A HEIGHT NOT LESS THAN 72 INCHES ABOVE THE
 DRAIN INLET.
  
 2) THE SHEET A1 STATES TO RETILE THE BATHROOM, THE
 PLANS DO NOT INDICATE IF THIS IS FOR THE WALLS ONLY OR
 WALLS AND FLOOR. FLOOR INSULATION (FBC-B 2020) FOR
 TILE, STONE, MARBLE, VINYL AND WOOD FLOORING ALL NEED
 TO HAVE HAD THE SOUND UNDERLAYMENT TESTED FLOOR
 ASSEMBLIES TO THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS AND MEET THE
 QUALIFICATIONS LISTED UNDER EACH OF THE STANDARDS FOR A
 6 INCH CONCRETE FLOOR ASSEMBLY/ NO DROPPED CEILING:
 PLEASE PROVIDE ALL THREE TEST REPORTS FOR TYPE I AND OR

 AIR-BORNE NOISE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E

 2C) FLAME SPREAD- FBC-B 2020 603.1. EXCEPTION 2.
 INSULATION INSTALLED BETWEEN A FINISHED FLOOR AND SOLID
 DECKING WITHOUT INTERVENING AIRSPACE SHALL BE ALLOWED
 TO HAVE A FLAME SPREAD INDEX OF NOT MORE THAN 200.

 CLARIFY WHETHER OR NOT THIS IS CORRECT. IF SO THEN
 CLARIFY THAT IT IS THE SAME CONFIGURATION AS THE
 ORIGINAL BATHTUB AND WILL NOT REQUIRE A NEW SLAB
 PENETRATION FOR THE DRAIN. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC.
  
 2. PER WPB FBC 107.2.1, CLARIFY WHETHER OR NOT A SHOWER
 HEAD WILL BE PROVIDED.
  
 3. ARE YOU REPLACING THE EXISTING CONTROL VALVE? IF
