 1, 1979, UTILIZING BASE FLOOD ELEVATION (BFE) DATUM
 NGVD 1929. ANOTHER STRUCTURE (THE RESTERAUNT) LOCATED
 WITHIN THIS PROJECT IS IN FLOOD ZONE A5, WITH A MINIMUM
 (BFE) OF 7 FEET NGVD 29. THE CITIES LOCAL FREEBOARD
 REQUIREMENT, AT TIME OF PERMIT APPLICATION, WAS 1 FOOT,
 MAKING THE ADJACENT BUILDING (THE RESTAURANT) MINIMUM
 FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION ALSO REFERRED TO AS DESIGN
 FLOOD ELEVATION (DFE), 8 FEET NGVD 29. THE DESIGNER
 PLACED BOTH RESTAURANT AND HOTEL BUILDINGS FINISHED
 FLOOR ELEVATION (DFE) AT 9 FEET NGVD 29.
  
 THE NEW COMMUNITY FLOOD MAPS, EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER
 5, 2017, PANEL NUMBER 12099C 0583F, UTILIZES BASE FLOOD
 ELEVATION DATUM NAVD 1988, THIS NEW MAP PLACES THE
 HOTEL IN A SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA (SFHA) WITH A BASE
 FLOOD ELEVATION (BFE) OF 6 FEET NAVD 88. WITH THE
 CITY'S NEW 2 FOOT FREE BOARD, A BUILDING PERMITTED
 AFTER OCTOBER 5, 2017 WOULD REQUIRE A MINMUM FINISHED
 FLOOR ELEVATION (DFE) OF 8 FEET NAVD 88.
  
 THE AS-BUILT FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION (DFE) OF THE
 HOTEL IS 9 FEET NGVD 29. IF THE HOTEL WERE PERMITTED
 TODAY (POST OCT. 5, 2017) THE FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION
 (DFE) WOULD BE RECORDED AS 7.48 FEET NAVD 88, USING THE
 NEW 1988 DATUM. THIS WOULD PLACE THE HOTEL .52 FEET
 BELOW THE MINIMUM FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION (DFE) OF 8
