 1) THE PERMIT APPLICATION AND VALUE ARE INDICATING ONLY
 THE INSTALLATION OF A KITCHEN HOOD, HOWEVER THE PLANS
 ARE INDICATING A TENANT BUILD-OUT WHICH WILL REQUIRE A
 GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION WITH AN
 ACCURATE WORK DESCRIPTION, AND A VALUE THAT WILL
 INCLUDE ALL PHASES OF THE PROJECT- BUILDING,
 MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND PLUMBING/GAS- SEE SECTIONS
 107 AND 109.3 WPB AMENDMENTS TO THE FBC. THE SUBMITTED
 PLANS AS THEY ARE NOW RECEIVING A FULL REVIEW BY THE
 BUILDING, FIRE, AND PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENTS.
  
 2) PROVIDE AIR BALANCE CALCULATIONS ON THE PLAN IN THE
 FORM OF A SCHEDULE THAT INDICATES ALL EXHAUST AND
 REPLACEMENT AIR FOR THE FACILITY, PLUS THE NET
 EXFILTRATION IF APPLICABLE. THE TOTAL REPLACEMENT
 AIRFLOW RATE SHALL EQUAL THE TOTAL EXHAUST AIRFLOW RATE
 PLUS THE NET EXFILTRATION- SECTION 508.1.2.
  
 3) VERIFY THAT THE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN THE
 EXHAUST HOOD MAKEUP AIR AND THE AIR IN THE CONDITIONED
 SPACE DOES NOT EXCEED 10 DEGREES F- SECTION 508.1.1.
  
 4) VERIFY COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION C403.2.8 FLORIDA
 ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE PERTAINING TO THE KITCHEN
 EXHAUST SYSTEM:
  
 C403.2.8: REPLACEMENT AIR INTRODUCED DIRECTLY INTO THE
 EXHAUST HOOD CAVITY SHALL NOT BE GREATER THAN 10
 PERCENT OF THE HOOD EXHAUST AIRFLOW RATE. CONDITIONED
 SUPPLY AIR DELIVERED TO ANY SPACE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE
 GREATER OF THE FOLLOWING:
  
 1.THE VENTILATION RATE REQUIRED TO MEET THE SPACE
 HEATING OR COOLING LOAD.
 2.THE HOOD EXHAUST FLOW MINUS THE AVAILABLE TRANSFER
 AIR FROM ADJACENT SPACE WHERE AVAILABLE TRANSFER AIR IS
 CONSIDERED THAT PORTION OF OUTDOOR VENTILATION AIR NOT
 REQUIRED TO SATISFY OTHER EXHAUST NEEDS, SUCH AS
 RESTROOMS, AND NOT REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN PRESSURIZATION
 OF ADJACENT SPACES.
 WHERE TOTAL KITCHEN HOOD EXHAUST AIRFLOW RATE IS
 GREATER THAN 5,000 CFM (2360 L/S), EACH HOOD SHALL BE A
 FACTORY BUILT COMMERCIAL EXHAUST HOOD LISTED BY A
 NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING LABORATORY IN COMPLIANCE
 WITH UL 710. EACH HOOD SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM EXHAUST
 RATE AS SPECIFIED IN TABLE C403.2.8 AND SHALL COMPLY
 WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
 1.NOT LESS THAN 50 PERCENT OF ALL REPLACEMENT AIR SHALL
 BE TRANSFER AIR THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE EXHAUSTED.
 2.DEMAND VENTILATION SYSTEMS ON NOT LESS THAN 75
 PERCENT OF THE EXHAUST AIR THAT ARE CAPABLE OF NOT LESS
 THAN A 50-PERCENT REDUCTION IN EXHAUST AND REPLACEMENT
 AIR SYSTEM AIRFLOW RATES, INCLUDING CONTROLS NECESSARY
 TO MODULATE AIRFLOW IN RESPONSE TO APPLIANCE OPERATION
 AND TO MAINTAIN FULL CAPTURE AND CONTAINMENT OF SMOKE,
 EFFLUENT AND COMBUSTION PRODUCTS DURING COOKING AND
 IDLE.
 3.LISTED ENERGY RECOVERY DEVICES WITH A SENSIBLE HEAT
 RECOVERY EFFECTIVENESS OF NOT LESS THAN 40 PERCENT ON
 NOT LESS THAN 50 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL EXHAUST AIRFLOW.
  
 5) PROVIDE AN ELEVATION VIEW OF THE NEW HOOD AND THAT
 SHOWS THE FOLLOWING: A)THE VERTICAL DISTANCE BETWEEN
 THE FRONT LOWER LIP OF THE HOOD AND THE TOP HORIZONTAL
 SURFACE OF THE COOKING APPLIANCES ON ALL OPEN SIDES-
 SECTION 507.4.1. B) THE EXHAUST AND MAKEUP AIR SUPPLY
 DUCT RUNS AND CONNECTIONS TO THE HOOD, INCLUDING THE
 DIMENSIONS OF THE DUCTS AND THE REQUIRED MINIMUM 18"
 CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLES FOR THE GREASE DUCT. PLEASE
 NOTE IF FIREWRAPPING IS TO BE USED, THE DRAWING SHALL
 SHOW THE WRAPPING IN PLACE FROM OUTLET TO TERMINATION-
 SECTION 506.3.6. C) THE EXHAUST FAN AND EXHAUST OUTLET
 HEIGHT ABOVE THE FINISHED ROOF SURFACE- SECTION
 506.3.13.1
  
 6) THE HOOD SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH NOT LESS THAN 18"
 CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLES. BECAUSE THE HOOD IS ADJACENT
 TO THE WALL, IT IS REQUIRED THAT THE WALL BE OF
 NON-COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION WITH WITH MINIMUM 1/2"
 THICK GYPSUM WALLBOARD OR CEMENTITIOUS WALL BOARD. IN
 ADDITION IT IS REQUIRED THAT A SMOOTH, CLEANABLE,
 NONABSORBENT AND NONCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL IS INSTALLED
 BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE GYPSUM BOARD OVER AN AREA
 EXTENDING NOT LESS THAN 18 INCHES IN ALL DIRECTIONS
 FROM THE HOOD- SECTION 507.2.6. PLEASE REVISE THE PLANS
 TO SHOW COMPLIANCE.
  
 7) SUBMIT MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICTIONS FOR THE GREASE
 EXHAUST FAN- SECTION 506.5.1.
  
 8) PROVIDE WIND LOAD ENGINEERING FOR INSTALLATION OF
 THE EXHASUT FAN AND THE NEW 3-TON ROOFTOP AC UNIT-
 SECTION 301.15.
