 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) 2ND REQUEST. THE DESIGNER OF RECORD HAS CHANGED THE
 OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION TO BUSINESS INDICATING THE
 TENANT SPACE WOULD BE USED FOR TRAINING AND SKILL
 DEVELOPMENT NOT WITHIN A SCHOOL OR ACADEMIC PROGRAM.
 FOR THE BUILDING OFFICIAL TO ACCEPT THIS USAGE THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A FURNITURE
 PLAN OF HOW MANY STUDENTS WILL ATTEND CLASSES AT ANY
 GIVEN TIME AND 2ND A RATIO BETWEEN INSTRUCTORS/ TUTORS
 AND THEIR STUDENTS. TO VERIFY IF THE PROPOSED SETTING
 WILL NOT BE AS CLASSROOM TRAINING GIVEN TO LARGER
 GROUPS IN A TRADITIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OR IF THIS
 IS MORE ON THE LINES OF TUTORS WORKING WITH ONE
 INDIVIDUAL. THE PLANS WILL NEED TO REFLECT THIS. 2014
 FBC-B 304.1 & 2012 IBC-B COMMENTARY, TRAINING AND SKILL
 DEVELOPMENT NOT WITHIN A SCHOOL OR ACADEMIC PROGRAM
  
 1ST ROUND OF COMMENTS. SHEET 1 INDICATES THE ALTERATION
 LEVEL AS A LEVEL II. THE OCCUPANCY TYPE IS LISTED AS
 EDUCATIONAL, THIS IS A CHANGE IN USE AND A CHANGE IN
 OCCUPANCY. PLEASE REVIEW THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A CHANGE
 OF OCCUPANCY IN THE 2014 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE
 SECTION 1001.3.1 PARTIAL CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY
 CLASSIFICATION.
 WHERE A PORTION OF AN EXISTING BUILDING IS CHANGED TO A
 NEW OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION, SECTION 1012 SHALL APPLY.

 EDUCATIONAL OCCUPANCY PLEASE PROVIDE THE AGE GROUP OF

 2B) SHEET 1 THE OCCUPANT LOAD IS RED LINED, NOONE CAN
 WRITE ON THE ENGINEERED PLANS PLEASE UPDATE PLANS TO
 THE CORRECT OCCUPANT LOAD.

 SPACE AS 1400 SQ. FT. AND THE NET AS 815 SQ. FT. THE
 INTERIOR TENANT AREA OF LEASABLE SPACE IS 19.5 X 68.5
 SQ. FT.= 1336 SQ. FT. THE NET SQUARE FEET REMOVAL OF
 THE RESTROOM AND WALLS IS APPROXIMATELY 1250 SQ. FT. /
 20 SQ. FT. PER OCCUPANT = 63 OCCUPANTS. THE FBC-B TABLE
 1004.1.2 FOR EDUCATIONAL IS 20 SQ. FT. / OCCUPANT/ NET,
 PLEASE PROVIDE HOW YOUR NET SQ. FOOTAGE OF 815 SQ. FT.
 WAS DERIVED?
  
 4) SHEET 1 INDICATES THE TENANT SEPARATION WALLS ARE TO
 BE ONE HOUR FIRE RATED WALLS. THESE SAME WALLS ARE
 OCCUPANCY SEPARATION WALLS WITH THE PLANS INDICATING
 BUSINESS OCCUPANCIES ON BOTH SIDES. FOR AN
 NON-SPRINKLERED BUILDING WITH EITHER BUSINESS OF
 MERCANTILE OCCUPANCIES THE EDUCATIONAL OCCUPANCY
 REQUIRES A 2 HOUR FIRE RATING. FBC-B TABLE 508.4.
  
 5) 2014 FBC-B SECTION 468 SCHOOLS:
 5A) 468.3.5.1 STANDARDS. EDUCATIONAL AND ANCILLARY
 FACILITIES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH TOILETS, HANDWASHING
 FACILITIES, AND DRINKING FOUNTAINS FOR ALL OCCUPANTS,
 IN RATIOS AND ACCESSIBLE AS REQUIRED BY THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, FLORIDA LAW, AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS.
  
 5B) 468.3.5.2 TEACHER TOILETS. FACULTY AND STAFF
 TOILETS SHALL BE SEPARATE FROM STUDENT TOILETS.
  
 5C) 468.3.5.4 SHIELDING DEVICE. THE ENTRY TO EACH GROUP
 TOILET ROOM SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A DOOR, PARTITION,
 OR OTHER SHIELDING DEVICE TO BLOCK FROM VIEW THE
 OCCUPANTS IN THE TOILET ROOM. IF A DOOR IS PROVIDED, IT
 SHALL HAVE A CLOSER AND SHALL SWING OUT IN THE
 DIRECTION OF EGRESS.
  
 5D) 468.3.5.5 WALLS. WALLS IN TOILET ROOMS SHALL BE
 IMPERVIOUS TO A HEIGHT OF AT LEAST 4 FEET (1219 MM)
 ABOVE THE FLOOR. WALLS IN KITCHENS, SCULLERIES, CAN
 WASH AREAS, AND SHOWER ROOMS SHALL BE IMPERVIOUS TO A
 HEIGHT OF AT LEAST 6 FEET (1829 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR.
 TOILET AND SHOWER PARTITIONS SHALL BE IMPERVIOUS.
  
 5E) 468.3.7.1 ILLUMINATION LEVEL IN
 CLASSROOMS/INSTRUCTIONAL SPACES. ILLUMINATION AT THE
 NORMAL TASK LEVEL FOR THE TYPE OF CLASSROOM/INSTRUCTION
 SPACE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 40 FOOTCANDLES (400 LUX).
  
 5F) 468.3.7.4 ILLUMINATION FAILURE OF GENERAL AND MEANS
 OF EGRESS LUMINARIES.
 ILLUMINATION SYSTEMS SHALL BE DESIGNED AND MAINTAINED
 SO THAT THE FAILURE OF ANY SINGLE LIGHTING UNIT, SUCH
 AS AN ELECTRIC LUMINARY, DOES NOT LEAVE ANY OCCUPIED
 SPACE OR MEANS OF EGRESS IN THE DARK. (SEE SECTION1006
 FOR ADDITIONAL MEANS OF EGRESS REQUIREMENTS.)
  
 6) 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE SECTION 1012.1.4
 ACCESSIBILITY. ALL BUILDINGS UNDERGOING A CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTION
 1012.8. 1012.8 ACCESSIBILITY. EXISTING BUILDINGS THAT
 UNDERGO A CHANGE OF GROUP OR OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, ACCESSIBILITY. PLEASE SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH: 211.2 MINIMUM NUMBER.
 NO FEWER THAN TWO DRINKING FOUNTAINS SHALL BE PROVIDED.
 ONE DRINKING FOUNTAIN SHALL COMPLY WITH 602.1 THROUGH
 602.6 AND ONE DRINKING FOUNTAIN SHALL COMPLY WITH
 602.7.
  
 7) THE HALLWAY BY THE STORAGE ROOM IS NOT DIMENSIONED
 BUT SCALES 54 INCHES, THE DOOR TO THE STORAGE ROOM IS
 AN OUTSWING DOOR, (3-0 FOOT) ONLY LEAVING 18 INCHES
 CLEAR. WITH AN OCCUPANT LOAD 50 OR GREATER THE MINIMUM
 REQUIRED CORRIDOR WIDTH IS 44 INCHES (FBC-B TABLE
 1018.2) ? OF THAT WIDTH WOULD BE 22 INCHES. PLEASE SEE
 SECTION 1005.7.1 DOORS. DOORS, WHEN FULLY OPENED, SHALL
 NOT REDUCE THE REQUIRED WIDTH BY MORE THAN 7 INCHES
 (178 MM). DOORS IN ANY POSITION SHALL NOT REDUCE THE
 REQUIRED WIDTH BY MORE THAN ONE-HALF.
  
 8) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
