 I BELIVE YOU ARE REFERRING TO TABLE 601 OF THE 2014
 FBC-B WITH BUILDING TYPE VB CONSTRUCTION. YOU REFERENCE
 THAT YOU ARE CREATING A HORIZONTAL FIRE BARRIER BETWEEN
 THE UPSTAIRS R2 OCCUPANCY AND THE 1ST FLOOR MERCANTILE
 WHICH IS REQUIRED BY TABLE 707.3.10.
 THE FLOOR/ CEILING ASSEMBLY IS TO MAKE A 2 HOUR FIRE
 BARRIER FROM THE EXTERIOR WALL TO EXTERIOR WALL, THE
 EXTERIOR BEARING WALLS WILL MAKE THE 2 HOUR FIRE RATING
 WITH THE BLOCK WORK STUCCO ON THE EXTERIOR AND DRYWALL
 ON THE INTERIOR. THE EXTERIOR DOORS DO NOT NEED TO BE
 FIRE RATED UNLESS BY REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN TABLE 705.8.
  
 IF THERE ARE COLUMNS AND OR PRIMARY FRAMING MEMBERS
 BELOW THE 2 HOUR HORIZONTAL FIRE BARRIER THEN THEY ARE
 TO BE FIRE RATED THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. THE PRIMARY
 FRAMING MEMBERS CANNOT FAIL BEFORE THE 2 HOUR FLOOR
 CEILING ASSEMBLY, OTHERWISE THE FLOOR ASSEMBLY WOULD
 COLLAPSE. PLEASE SEE THE DEFINITION OF PRIMARY
 STRUCTURAL FRAME.
  
 PRIMARY STRUCTURAL FRAME. THE PRIMARY STRUCTURAL FRAME

 UNDERSIDE OF THE FLOOR OR ROOF SHEATHING, SLAB OR DECK
 ABOVE AND SHALL BE SECURELY ATTACHED THERETO. SUCH FIRE
 BARRIERS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS THROUGH CONCEALED SPACE,
 SUCH AS THE SPACE ABOVE A SUSPENDED CEILING. JOINTS AND
 VOIDS AT INTERSECTIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTIONS 707.8

 707.5.1 SUPPORTING CONSTRUCTION.
 THE SUPPORTING CONSTRUCTION FOR A FIRE BARRIER SHALL BE
 PROTECTED TO AFFORD THE REQUIRED FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING
