 PLAN SHOWS A 6" RETAINING WALL RATHER THAN A 2'
 RETAINING WALL, BUT THAT IS BECAUSE THE GRADE WAS
 CHANGED. A DEVELOPMENT PERMIT TO ADD FILL IS REQUIRED
 PER NFIP AND CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
 94-546.
  
 ARROWS WERE ADDED TO THE PLAN. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS
 THE PROPOSED GRADING PLAN. WATER IS SHOWN AS DIRECTED
 TO A CORNER OF THE PROPERTY, WITH A CITY OWNED (OR
 FUTURE) DRAINAGE STRUCTURES. IT IS NOT CLEAR HOW WATER
 WILL BE DIRECTED AWAY FROM OTHER PROPERTIES, OVER THE
 WALL AND INTO THE DRAINAGE STRUCTURE.
  
 THE DESIGN PROPOSED DOES NOT PREVENT WATER FROM SEEPING
 THROUGH THE BLOCK WALL. TWO OPTIONS WERE SUGGESTED BY
 BUILDING OFFICIAL:
  
 A. FOR THE WALL WHICH IS ADJACENT TO OTHER PROPERTIES /
 CITY DRAINAGE EASEMENT, WALL TO BE GROUTED AND
 WATERPROOFED TO PREVENT WATER FROM LEAKING ONTO
 ADJACENT PARCELS.
  
 B. CREATE A SWALE AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE PROPERTY
 TO ACT AS A DETENTION AREA.

 UNREINFORCED RETAINING WALL WILL RESIST THE LOADS OF
 SOIL COMBINED WITH WATER.
  
 NOT ADDRESSED. THE WALL IS NOT REINFORCED BY
 CONVENTIONAL METHODS (STEEL, GROUT). SINCE THIS IS NOT
 A TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION METHOD, I CANNOT DETERMINE
 WHETHER OR NOT THE DESIGN OF THE 2' WALL WILL BE
 SUFFICIENT TO RESIST FLOOD LOADS, WIND LOADS. PLEASE
