 REVIEW: 2004 FLORIDA EXISTING BUILDING CODE WITH 2006
 REVISIONS.
  
 SCOPE OF WORK: BALCONY CONCRETE RESTORATION AT UNIT
 #207 (NORTH AND SOUTH) AND
 UNIT #209 (NORTH&SOUTH), REPAIR CONCRETE SLAB, INTERIOR
 CEILING AT UNIT#203.
  
 STATUS: APPROVED
  
 COMMENTS:
  
 1) THE STRUCTURAL CONCRETE REPAIRS SHALL CONFORM TO THE
 FOLLOWING:
  
 401.2PERMITTED MATERIALS.
 EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE REQUIRED HEREIN, WORK SHALL BE DONE
 USING MATERIALS PERMITTED BY THE APPLICABLE CODE FOR
 NEW CONSTRUCTION OR USING LIKE MATERIALS SUCH THAT NO
 HAZARD TO LIFE, HEALTH OR PROPERTY IS CREATED.
 EXCEPTION: REPAIRS TO A HISTORIC BUILDING SHALL BE
 PERMITTED USING ORIGINAL OR LIKE MATERIALS. MATERIALS
 SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTIONS 403.1, 403.2 AND 403.3.
 401.3CONFORMANCE.
 THE WORK SHALL NOT MAKE THE BUILDING LESS CONFORMING TO
 THE BUILDING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL OR FIRE
 CODES OF THE JURISDICTION, OR TO ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS,
 DESIGN AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION, OR ANY PREVIOUSLY
 APPROVED PLANS, MODIFICATIONS, ALTERNATIVE METHODS, OR
 COMPLIANCE ALTERNATIVES, THAN IT WAS BEFORE THE REPAIR
 WAS UNDERTAKEN.
  
 407.2REDUCTION OF STRENGTH.
 REPAIRS SHALL NOT REDUCE THE STRUCTURAL STRENGTH OR
 STABILITY OF THE BUILDING, STRUCTURE, OR ANY INDIVIDUAL
 MEMBER THEREOF.
 EXCEPTION: SUCH REDUCTION SHALL BE ALLOWED, PROVIDED
 THE CAPACITY IS NOT REDUCED TO BELOW THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING LEVELS.
  
 2) SAFEGUARDS DURING THE CONCRETE RESTORATION WORK
 SHALL COMPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:
  
 1302.1REMODELING AND ADDITIONS.
 REQUIRED EXITS, EXISTING STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS, FIRE
 PROTECTION DEVICES AND SANITARY SAFEGUARDS SHALL BE
 MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES DURING REMODELING, ALTERATIONS,
 REPAIRS OR ADDITIONS TO ANY BUILDING OR STRUCTURE.
 EXCEPTIONS:
 1. WHEN SUCH REQUIRED ELEMENTS OR DEVICES ARE
 BEING REMODELED, ALTERED OR REPAIRED, ADEQUATE
 SUBSTITUTE PROVISIONS SHALL BE MADE.
 2. WHEN THE EXISTING BUILDING IS NOT OCCUPIED.
 1302.2 MANNER OF REMOVAL.
 WASTE MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED IN A MANNER WHICH
 PREVENTS INJURY OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS, ADJOINING
 PROPERTIES AND PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY.
  
 3) PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN TO SCHEDULE #143 IN-PROGRESS
 INSPECTIONS AS REQUIRED. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT
 IN A FAILED FINAL INSPECTION.
