 WE HAVE COMPLETED OUR REVIEW OF THE PLANS AND

 PROJECT. OUR OBSERVATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
 1. THE PROPOSED EXFILTRATION TRENCH DETAIL SPECIFIES
 ONLY 12 INCHES OF BACKFILL OVER THE TRENCH, RATHER
 THAN THE 18 INCHES THAT IS SPECIFIED BY THE SFWMD
 TYPICAL EXFILTRATION TRENCH DETAIL.
 2. NO GEOTECHNICAL REPORT WAS PROVIDED TO SUBSTANTIATE
 THE HYDRAULIC CONDUCTIVITY (K VALUE) OR THE
 GROUND WATER TABLE LEVEL. HOWEVER, THE K VALUE APPEARS
 TO BE CONSERVATIVE.
 3. THE CALCULATIONS INDICATE THAT THE PROPOSED SITE
 PROVIDES STORAGE FOR UP TO THE 10-YEAR/1-DAY
 RAINFALL EVENT. HOWEVER, THIS CALCULATION IS BASED ON
 AN EFFECTIVE HEAD VALUE OF 10.2? (INLET GRATE
 ELEVATION LESS THE GROUND WATER ELEVATION). IT IS MORE
 CONVENTIONALLY ACCEPTED THAT THIS VALUE
 SHOULD BE THE INLET GRATE ELEVATION LESS THE BOTTOM OF
 THE TRENCH, 16.25? ? 9.75 = 6.5?. USING THE
 LOWER VALUE, THE PROPOSED VOLUME OF THE TRENCH IS
 SUFFICIENT FOR THE 5-YEAR/1-HOUR, WHICH IS THE
 SFWMD CRITERION FOR PARKING AREAS, AND IT IS ALSO
 ENOUGH STORAGE VOLUME TO PROVIDE FOR THE
 RUNOFF FROM THE 5-YEAR/1-DAY; HOWEVER, IT IS NOT ENOUGH
 FOR THE 10-YEAR/1-DAY EVENT RUNOFF. ANY
 RUNOFF IN EXCESS OF THE 5-YEAR/1-DAY WILL LEAVE THE
 SITE. THE PLANS DO NOT INDICATE THE OFF-SITE FLOW
 PATTERN AND IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE DISCHARGE FLOWS TO THE
 CITY?S SYSTEM OR THAT OF FDOT.
 ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, THE PROPOSED DRAINAGE MEETS
 SFWMD WATER QUALITY CRITERIA, PROVIDES THE

 WITH THE PROPORTION OF PHASE I.
 A. ONE OF THE SUGGESTIONS MADE BY STAFF WAS TO REDUCE
 THE THICKNESS OF THE FACIA CONCEALING THE SLABS.
 HOWEVER, THE PLANS SUBMITTED ONLY SHOW THE THICKNESS
 REDUCED ON TWO (2) OF THE SLABS.THERE SHOULD BE A
 CONSISTENCY THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING.IF THE THICKNESS
 OF THE THIRD SLAB CAN NOT BE REDUCED DUE TO STRUCTURAL
 PURPOSES, THEN THE REMAINING SLABS SHOULD REMAIN THE
 SAME.
 B. THE SECOND SUGGESTION MADE BY STAFF WAS TO INSTALL
 LIGHTING FIXTURES UNDERNEATH THE SLABS.PLEASE PROVIDE
 DETAILS AND A CROSS-SECTION OF THE LIGHT FIXTURES
 LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE SLABS.AS MENTIONED IN THE
 MEETING, THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH FACIA DEPTH TO CONCEAL
 THE LIGHTING FIXTURE BELOW THE SLAB AND BEHIND THE BEAM
 SO THAT IT WILL NOT BE VISIBLE.
  
 4. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME
 DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE PLANS (I.E. NAME OF SOUTH DIXIE
 HIGHWAY, AND LAYOUT OF THE BENCH AT THE NORTHWEST
 CORNER OF THE SITE).PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL PLANS SHOW
 THE SAME CONDITIONS.
