 NOTE: THE WRITTEN RESPONS TO PREVIOUS MECHANICAL REVIEW
 COMMENTS IS NOT AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF THE
 MECHANICAL PLAN REVIEW HISTORY RELATED TO THESE PLANS.
 THE PLANS WERE PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED AS A REVISION TO
 THE SHELL BUILDING. HOWEVER, THEY WERE NOT REVIEWED AT
 THAT TIME. THEY WERE REJECTED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY
 WERE NOT DESIGNED BY THE ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR THE
 SHELL AND WERE DONE UNDER THE WRONG CODE (2004 FBC,
 WHILE THE SHELL IS UNDER THE 2001 FBC). IF THE PLANS
 WERE LOST, THEY WERE NOT LOST BY THIS OFFICE, AS OUR
 POLICY IS NOT TO RETAIN DENIED PLANS. ALL SETS ARE
 RETURNED TO THE CONTRACTOR ONCE REVIEWS ARE COMPLETE.
 IN FACT, OUR RECORDS INDICATE THAT PETE LOMBARDI PICKED
 UP THE DENIED PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL AND
 BUILDING REVISIONS ON MAY 21, 2007.
  
 THE PROVISO, WHICH REQUIRES PERMANENT MEANS OF ACCESS
 TO THE ROOF FOR SERVICE OF EQUIPMENT, HAS STILL NOT
 BEEN ADRESSED EITHER AS A PART OF THIS PERMIT
 APPLICATION OR THE BASE BUILDING PERMIT. THE FOLLOWING
 COMMENTS REPRESENT THE FIRST REVIEW OF THESE PLANS
 UNDER THIS PERMIT APPLICATION, UNDER THE CORRECT CODE,
 AND BY AN ACCEPTABLE DESIGNER BECAUSE THE MECHANICAL
 PLANS WERE NOT SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INITIAL
 APPLICATION.
  
 1. A SHOP DRAWING REVIEW OF THESE PLANS BY THE DESIGNER

 EXISTING ROOF STANDS TO BE ENGINEERED FOR 140 MPH WIND
 ZONE PER FBC,M 301.13 AND FBC CH.1609.
  
 4. PLEASE SHOW MEANS AND LOCATION OF CONDENSATE
 DISPOSAL PER FBC,M 307.2.1.
  
 5. PLEASE PROVIDE AIR BALANCE SCHEDULE SHOWING SUPPLY,
 RETURN, OUTDOOR AIR AND EXHAUST CFM TOTALS SHOWING THE
 SPACE TO BE PRESSURIZED WITH RESPECT TO THE OUTDOORS
 PER FBC 13-409.1.
  
 6. SHUTOFF DAMPER CONTROLS ARE REQUIRED: OUTDOOR AIR
 SUPPLY SYSTEMS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH MOTORIZED DAMPERS
 THAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHUT WHEN THE SYSTEMS OR SPACES
 SERVED ARE NOT IN USE. GRAVITY (NON MOTORIZED) DAMPERS
 ARE ACCEPTABLE IN SYSTEMS WITH A DESIGN OUTSIDE AIR
 INTAKE OF 300 CFM OR LESS. FBC 13-409.1.ABC.3.3
  
 7. OUTDOOR AIR CALCULATIONS ARE TO BE BASED ON FBC,M
 TABLE 403.3 OR ASHRAE 62.1-2004, NOT ASHRAE 62-1989
  
 8. WHERE MECHANICAL EXHAUST IS REQUIRED BY TABLE 403.3
 (TOILET ROOMS), RECIRCULATION OF AIR FROM SUCH SPACES
 SHALL BE PROHIBITED. ALL AIR SUPPLIED TO SUCH SPACES
 SHALL BE EXHAUSTED, INCLUDING ANY AIR IN EXCESS OF THAT
 REQUIRED BY TABLE 403.3. THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED BY
 INTERLOCKING THE BATH FAN WITH THE AHU SUPPLYING AIR TO
 THE TOILET ROOMS (IN THIS CASE, AHU 3).
  
 9. PROVISIONS SHALL ALSO BE MADE TO ASSURE VENTILATION
 IS ALSO PROVIDED IN TOILET ROOMS WHENEVER THESE SPACES
 ARE OCCUPIED PER FBC,M 401.3. THIS MAY BE ACCOMPLISHED
 BY HAVING THE EXHAUST FANS ACTIVATE WHENEVER THE LIGHTS
 ARE ON IN THE SPACE BEING SERVED OR OTHER APPROVED
 MEANS.
  
 10. AHU 2 AND AHU 3 REQUIRE FAN SHUT-DOWN BY SMOKE
 DTETECTOR PER FBC,M 606.2.
