I SPOKE WITH ERICK REGARDING THE OPEN CODE CASE. HE STATED HE WANTS TO DELAY THE CASE BECAUSE HE DOES NOT WANT THE CASE TO GO TO THE MAGISTRATE HEARING. I MADE HIM AWARE THE COMPLIANCE DATE IS 10/11/19 AND THE HEARING IS 10/16/19; HOWEVER, I WILL ASK THE MAGISTRATE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 30 DAYS FOR HIM. HE STATED HE JUST DOES NOT WANT THE CASE TO GO TO THE HEARING, AND HE WILL BE DONE IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS. I MADE HIM AWARE THE CASE WILL STILL GO TO THE HEARING AND WE WILL ASK THE MAGISTRATE FOR TIME SO THAT HE CAN GET THE PROPERTY INTO COMPLIANCE. HE STATED HE THINK I AM BEING DIFFICULT BECAUSE OTHER CODE OFFICERS HAVE CHANGE DATES FOR HIM BEFORE. I MADE HIM AWARE I TREAT EVERY CODE CASE BY THE BOOK AND HE IS NOT BEING SINGLED OUT. I MADE HIM AWARE I WILL CHECK WITH MITH TO SEE IF THE EXTENSION WILL BE GRANTED. I MADE MITCH AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND HE ADVISED THE CASE WILL PROCEED TO THE HEARING AS SCHEDULED, AND WE WILL ASK FOR ADDITIONAL TIME AT THE MAGISTRATE'S HEARING. I MADE ERICK AWARE; HOWEVER, HE WAS NOT HAPPY. HE ASKED IF HE WOULD BE ABLE TO REQUEST A DIFFERENT CODE OFFICE, I MADE HIM AWARE CODE OFFICERS ARE NOT ASSIGNED WHEN A RESIDENT REQUEST THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HAPPY WITH HOW A CODE OFFICER PERFORMS HIS OR HER DUTIES, THEY ARE ASSIGNED A SPECIFIC ZONE.
