WHEN REMINDED IT TAKES UP TO 90 DAYS TO GET TO A HEARING AND THAT THIS IS STYATED ON THE APPLICATION HE GREW ENRAGED, ACCUSED ME OF INETENTIONALLY HOLDING HIS UP, AND STOOD UP TRYING TO POINT HIS FINGER IN MY FACE. I HAD TO REMIND HIM TO PULL HIS COVID MASK UP OVER HIS NOSE AND EXPLAINED TO HIM HIS APPLICATION IS ONE OF UP TO 400 AT ANY GIVEN TIME AND THEY ARE MANAGED IN ORDER RECEIVED AND HE STATED I WAS F"ULL OF "SH*T." HE GREW LOUDER AND MORE PROFANE TO THE POINT HE COULD BE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE FIRST FLOOR OF CITY HALL INCLUDING SECURITY. EH HAD EMAILED A REQUEST FOR THE STATUS LESS THAN FOUR HOURS EARLIER BUT THE CLERK WHO WOULD HAVE RESPONDED WAS OUT SO HE DIDN'T HAVE AN ANSWER YET. SHORTLY AFTER THIS ENCOUNTER HE EMAILED ASKING FOR A MEETING AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NO REASON TO MEET ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC AND WANTON BEHAVIOR. HE WAS GIVEN A STATUS OF HIS APPLICATION VIA THAT EMAIL WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE CASE AND TOLD TO ONLY EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS.

ONE CASE WAS FOR ILLEGAL CONVERSION/WORK DONE WITHOUT OBTAINING BUILDING PERMIT & UNPERMITTED USE OF THE PROPERTY(3 UNITS AT A SINGLE FAMILY PROPERTY). RECENTLY THE OWNER HAS PASSED A MISCELLANEOUS INSPECTION FOR PERMIT 20080138 - PERMIT IS ONLY FOR REPAIRING EXTERIOR STAIRS AND A NEW PARTITION ON THE FIRST FLOOR. I HAVE REVIEWED ALL MATERIALS WITH THIS CASE AND THE PERMIT WORK REQUIRED TO COME INTO COMPLIANCE, I ALSO MET WITH ASSISTANT BUILDING OFFICIAL RICHARD GATHRIGHT TO GO INTO DETAIL OF WHAT THE PERMIT 20080138 INCLUDED AND WHAT IT DID NOT INCLUDE, WHAT WAS STILL REQUIRED, ETC. AS OF 11/12/2020 THE UPSTAIRS IS OCCUPIED AND BEING RENTED BY A TENANT. THE DOWNSTAIRS WAS BEING WORKED ON BUT STILL REQUIRED DOOR WEATHER STRIPS/SEALS, ELECTRICAL OUTLET COVERS, LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS, TRASH/DEBRIS CLEANED UP FROM THE PROPERTY, WASHER/DRYER MOVED INSIDE TO MATCH THE APPROVED FLOORPLAN, SCREENS FOR ALL WINDOWS AND TO MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS IN CHAPTER 18 OF THE MUNICODE. THE TWO CASES GO TOGETHER AS LONG AS THE OWNER PLANS ON RENTING THE PROPERTY, WHICH I EXPLAINED. THE CODE CASE REGARDING THE PERMITS REQUIRES ADDITIONAL PERMIT TO LEGALIZE THE ILLEGAL CONVERSIONS AT THE PROPERTY INCLUDING THE CARPORT THAT WAS COVERED AND TURNED INTO LIVING AREA, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, WATER HEATER PERMIT, ETC. THE PROPERTY CANNOT BE RENTED UNTIL PERMITS ARE MADE TO LEGALIZE ANY ILLEGAL CONVERSION.
